.. If you know what you are doing clicking on the a picture in the main window would be much faster. That way it would be more or less doable to switch on the handbrakes for every car in the BNSF Scenic Sub route. And if you need more detail, the detail window is still available. Please tell what you think of this suggestion.

During the initial development phase of this feature, the suggested functionality had already been implemented. Nevertheless, our aim was to improve accessibility for visually impaired users. Therefore, I decided to consolidate all changes to the 'Train Car Viewer' window, which uses larger symbols.
If users believe that the two windows should have the same functionality, we could implement this change.
Nonetheless, it is important to bear in mind that at high display resolutions, it may be challenging to select the small symbols. In this case nothing user friendly.

Regards,
Mauricio.

This Train Car Operations Window is now also available as a webpage. To be opened via the menu (menu) or directly Train Car Operations. Or change the link if to be opened on another computer (tablet?).

The change is available in unstable Open Rails U2023.11.25-1822 or later.

Manual still to be changed.

The webpage looks more or less the same as what Mauricio has so nicely created. Except:
- no details window
- only one yellow arrow in front of the car
- not possible to hide the non brake items by clicking the right arrow.
- 1% of the changes are not propagated to Mauricio's cntl-alt-f9 window. But anyway it's a bit useless to have them both open.
- if closing open rails with webpage open, the webpage is grayed out. After starting OR again the webpage comes to life after a few seconds. No need to refresh.

If anything is wrong or missing, please let us know.

I guess, they work only with mentioned unstable version installed and running...
Also, port number(s) (there, 2150 is expected) should match.

Sorry the links are My linkhttp://localhost:2150/ and http://localhost:215...ions/index.html.

For these to work you have to have OR up and running and the webbrowser started on the same machine.

Hi Folks,

Is anyone using this - - - OMG - - - absolutely BRILLIANT - gentlemen.

This is a complete game changer - sorry I faded off for a while - I didn't realize how much active work was going on.

You've made actual switching fun again...

Mauricio and Siebren - I can't thank you enough for your efforts.

:sign_thanks:

I've been running this a bunch and it works very well - beyond what I initially envisioned.

When does this get added to replace the old version in the production pipeline?

I've tested both the on screen and web based (iPad) interface.

Some feedback - I'm certainly not trying to make more work - just my two cents - please take them for what they are worth.

I think I confused the interface during an activity where I had to [Cntl E] Switch Cabs - I'll have to go back and try again - I can live without switching cabs.

Sometimes the web interface on the iPad is difficult to click on - it's probably just the nature of the iPad with hotspots - but I would have to try five or ten times to get something to respond.

Just in general - with all the onscreen HUD windows - is window movement - I find myself constantly having to reposition the windows after having them set where I like them - I think it's mostly due to oversized strings being displayed that the original HUD wasn't designed to handle - so the window shifts to accommodate. It would be nice if all the text displayed was uniform in size and fit in defined structured fields - and - that the windows could be "pinned" to a precise location on the user screen - keeping it there permanently.

It would be nice if we could add sound effects for disconnecting hoses - cycling valves - etc etc etc. In an ideal world - if we could link things like air hose animations that Erick and Peter worked on - to this as well.

Switching now - is a hoot.
:)

Regards,
Scott

New sound triggers? Why no?
I'd connect to Scott's proposal.
(sorry for offtop)

hi Scott,

thanks for your testing and your nice words. Most of the credits go to Mauricio as he did al the artwork. Which makes it really wow...! And came up with the idea. I just created the web interface.

I tested that web interface with a Galaxy Tab A (2018, 10.5) running android. Has a resolution of 1920x1200. On that tablet pressing works ok. Certainly not needed to press 5 to 10 times. Makes the interface useless for you. As a programmer I would try to debug the iPad remotely, but I have no iPad.

regards, Siebren.
