Hi Carlo

In Stockholmsrutten we aren't experiencing other problems than pixel problems -when Dynamic Shadows are turned off.

Then some sporadic path loading issues and resume save game issues, but that is to live with for the time being.

Nice not having the 3,5 GB limit no more.

Great work Carlo

Cheers

from all three of us, Mike, Wase and Björn

Merwyn,
yes, the pixellation issue is probably the most serious one, and it occurs to many people. Issue is present also in gpz's original version.

Pixelation is related to dynamic shading. If you disable dynamic shading in the game, pixelation will appear. When activated, the pixels will not appear.
If I have a ShadowMapDistance short set, pixelation will appear again in the distance.

Yes, using dynamic shadows does remove the pixellation, but I do not use that option, I do not like some aspects of it. Therefore, for me right now, Monogame version is a non-starter.

Does monogame version finally works without veird dependencies? I coudn't install XNA because it wanted vs2008.
I'd like to finally build OR source.

Hi Goku,
That is not something I am addressing now. I am still trying to remove at least the worst bugs. Anyhow downloading VS2017 Community is free :)
Here now
http://www.interazio...rr_MonoGame.zip a release can be downloaded that eliminates the rainbow colours of the steam locos exhaust :) It corresponds to x.3958 with the correction of the build bug introduced with such version.
Here http://www.elvastowe...post__p__226424 I've also uploaded the new release of the DevKit.

Does anyone antialiasing work? I can not force edging of the edges over the graphics drivers.

I have an NVIDIA card and the antialias settings do not seem to work for me either. This is true with the version that Peter produced as well as Carlo's.

The program also does not close cleanly but crashes out. This can be seen on the log after you have closed down.

You don't need the XNA Game Studio install to build Open Rails any more - just the runtime component is needed, same as running OR itself. The Game Studio requirement was removed back in Sep 2013 so if there's still a reference to it in some instructions, let me know so we can fix that. :)

Here http://www.interazio...60_Monogame.zip an OR Monogame version corresponding to x.3960 can be downloaded. The window centering has been solved.

Moreover here http://www.elvastowe...post__p__226424 the new release of the DevKit including above window centering fix is available.

I haven't had any trouble compiling OR (other than some versions nonsense in the solution file) and I certainly don't have the XNA Game Studio installed.
