Don, unfortunately the most important thing, the beginning of the error message isn't visible on your screenshot. This way noone knows what caused the crash exactly.

Don

If you were to zip the OR log file and attach it to a post here, it will probably give the OR team a bit more to work with. FWIW, I have started the Amtrak 558 activity in OR and am almost at the second station stop.

This is in the testing:

"Information: OpenAL 1.1 using device Software by Creative Labs Inc."

So it would appear that OR has found the Radeon Card with the correct software.

Is that the message that comes up in the DOS screen? If so, how do I get it to stop the scrolling and capture the whole message before the error bubble comes up?

Thank you for the suggestions.

By increasing the window's vertical size, maybe?

The OpenAL message has nothing to do with Radeon card.

Run OR again, and on the menu page at the bottom there is a check box for Logging. Make sure that is ticked and you will get a log file when you run an activity that should appear on your desktop which is called OpenRailsLog.txt and is the file you should zip and attach here.

The problem, as I noted earlier, is that the crash is occurring in the logging code. I do not expect the log file to contain anything useful. I do, however, still think the OP is running two copies concurrently.

As per some of the suggestions here, I am stumped! Sorry guys. Given that, I downloaded a whole new copy of OR_v08 and deleted the previous install of OR.

Here is the start a recent log file:
Open Rails is starting...

Version = 0.8.0.1251
Build = 0.0.4651.25832 09/25/2012 Tue 03:21 PM
Logfile = C:\Users\Don\Desktop\OpenRailsLog.txt
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
**************************************************************************************************************************************
************************************************************************************************************************************** (I put this here)
This act performs performs perfectly using MSTS. I am using the F40ph from MLT in the Mactier route.

This is with the new to me install, While trying to run the default Whitefish Freight Pull, the loco cab appeared fine from the engineer seat, but in the outside view it had only the three lights appear in the game!! There was no body to the locomotive!

I have attached a copy of the Log File.

I have never tried it before, but just for giggles I tried running two concurrent copies of OR with the same activity in each. Both started and both produced a complete log up to the point of closing down. Both ran fine for as long as I had them running.
