Hello, I have posted my issue over at TS and it was suggested that I try here and maybe find a solution. First off I am not a Computer Whiz so a lot of the information I see come back from the "Testing" portion of OR does not have a lot of meaning for me.

That said I have downloaded the Experimental x1605 version. There are two downloads there and I have both downloaded to my desktop as suggested. When I click on the OR_X and go to the load activity I get an OR Error box that "OR has stopped working". Now, I have run the "Test" on this activity and it comes back as "Passed" but it will not load. During the testing the train and activity load for a few seconds and the test proceeds as normal.

Now, I am running an i5 win7-64 with 12gb memory and a Radeon HD5670 card. MSTS is installed on it's own SSD drive. This act was completed today in MSTS with no issues. It is part of a new collection from TS by Henry Tripplett for Jeff Farquar's Surfliner route. I decided to finally try OR and I love the look! The act ran for about 7 minutes, enough time to get out of the San Diego station, but it quit just before reaching Old Town Station and would not restart, I got that error on the screen.

I want to thank you for any suggestions.

Assuming you have pasted the log file exactly as-is and not accidentally hit paste twice, it shows that you are attempting to have OR run while OR is already running. This does not work. The crash you are seeing is because the logging code in each copy of OR is colliding with the other.

I do not know how you could have two copies running unless you have started the program twice manually. If you did that, why? The menu reappears when the game is closed and, if it doesn't, the worst thing to do is to start the program again (since you'll now have two copies running).

The only reason there are two copies there, is one is the DEFAULT folder for routes and the other is my MSTS folder, I ran "Test All" when I ran it, and the two have slightly different results, in the FPS one is higher and in the load time one is faster. When trying to run in OR, I select one or the other and neither loads properly-I get the error box that OR has stopped running.

When it did run in OR, it only lasted about 7 minutes (5 minutes to load passengers-two minutes of actual driving). The difference is amazing! I would really like to have this OR thing up and running. I have all the necessities installed on the SSD where MSTS resides. The install instructions are not too specific as to where these should be installed. I also ran OR from the desktop as suggested in the install instructions but still get the error box coming up.

Should I maybe start over, the two requisite files are in place so re-installing OR fresh is not a problem. The other question I have is which experimental download should be used in my case? The OR_X or the OR_X_source?? Do these get combined or do they stay separate?

You don't need OR_X_Source.

This is provided on our website as required by the license we have chosen, whereby all distributors of the executable files in OR_X have to make the source freely available for those who want to use it.

What drive is your MSTS installation on? The logfile indicates the F: drive. Is this correct? Or is it on the C: drive? And is it installed in the Program Files(x86) folder?

MSTS is installed on F drive which is a SSD and that is all that is on there. My other drives take care of everyday computing. I find it strange that I was able to complete the activity in MSTS with no issues, but in OR it fizzled out after just a few minutes with the error screen-note.

I have tried using the "Default" indication in the OR application and the "MSTS" indication with no difference. They both bring up that same error. If you will notice in the TWO results from the "TEST", there is a slight difference in the load speed and the FPS figures. That seems to be the only variable. I was also reading that someone else had a problem with the particular equipment pack for this activity and changed it out for the 3DTrains Surfliner and it worked. I might just try that for that activity.

I did try 3 different default activities in OR and they did the same thing, the same error bubble.

Have you restarted your Windows to make sure you don't run two copies of the game, as James indicated? With restarting all possible zombie instances get flushed.

Yes I have made sure I only have either the "default" OR the MSTS source checked when running the game.

What I cannot understand is that the untouched default routes cause this same issue. The acts start then cut out about two-three minutes into the act. I have gone tough and made sure that "Permissions" are also not an issue.

What i I put the OR information on the SSD with MSTS? Would that make a difference? It would give it a space that is clean of all clutter, or does the location of OR matter?

I have also made sure that any operations concerning the SSD are off, such as any scanning and/or updating/archiving, so I cannot see that being a problem and interfering with the operation. The SSD for MSTS does not have windows installed, MSTS is alone on it:

I have noticed that a few others with "Loading Problems/Issues" are having specific errors come up. I am not getting anything specific.

I WOULD like to operate OR in the manner which it is presented, as a VIABLE alternative to MSTS. However due to whatever is happening I cannot do this.

I was directed here in the hope that my issue would be addressed and possibly solved, I see that does not seem to be what is happening.

If anyone has any other suggestions I am open to them, meanwhile I will just enjoy MSTS and put up with its idiosyncrasies.

I have already spelled out what my computer is capable of, what I am encountering and not finding a solution thus far.

I notice that you are running an i5 processor. far as I am aware, these come with a graphics chip on the same die as the cpu. If this is not disabled, OR might be trying to use it, rather than your discrete Radeon.
