Rick,

With Allen's coach and RPO, all that would be left to model for the Limited would be a couple of the modernized Erie built coaches, dormitory car, diner/lounge, and pullmans (and E-8s of course).

Well, I've already finished the PAs and Allen's not doing interiors, so I won't be saving much time. :)

Here's a dormitory. I'm doing a few car's but probably not what you guy's are looking for. I'm just trying to fill in behind my PA's.

And I'm not going to compete with Rick. :)

I don't do E8's. ;)

Here's an older coach from pictures I found on George Ellwood's, Fallen Flags web site. It has 22 windows down each side. George has photo's plus car data from a couple of time period's. This one is from the 1940's and earlier time and did not show up in the next register. So it was probably not on the ERIE's roster in PA day's. These car's of this vintage would probably have been pretty well worn out during WWII and the Korean conflict. It was still fun to do.

WOW. You must have a LOT of time on your hands, Allen, or MAD skills. I took me ages to do my first HW car...

Hi Allen,

I've been quietly observing from the sidelines your latest works for the Erie. I am astounded by what I am seeing here. You certainly are on a roll and it's very apparent your skills and talents have only gotten better by the looks of these models. The passenger and head-end cars are especially attractive, even "just to fill in behind the PAs" - :)

Rick

I already had the model from an ATSF baggage car played with a while ago. Part's are something I have lots of. And those clerestory roofs are a pain. My advice is to get a good one and save it for all future projects. Just modify it for the next project as you need.

Your doing things right. But don't delete anything once the project is finished. Never can tell when you might need some of those part's for another project.

And as for time. That's all there is anymore. With this hip screaming pain and all there nothing but computer and watch Fox news all day. Just mow the lawn once a week with the John Deere is all the exercise this old body gets anymore. :)

Tim

I don't know what you could be astounded about. :p I'm just trying to catch up with you as to those fantastic painting skills you have. I still can't get a window or door to pop off a flat surface like you do. But I'm working at it :D

As for the painting. It's just one shade of paint on a layer laid over a CGTextures Grunge map and then play with the transparency sliders. Those Grunge maps are amazing. But I rarely use them as is. I smear them, punch them, spread them and squeeze them until I get the look I want.

I spend more time in PSP than modeling these day's

And I'm glad you popped in here. You too Rick!

A Tristate dweller makes the best Tristate stock. Incredible work, Allen!

I couldn't resist this one. Don't see many of these in anybodies consists. This is another modification of a basic carbody. Pullman parlor and sleepers were seen on many long haul railroads. Whipped this one up last night and may need a few more mods and roof parts.

Hey Allen,

Don't forget steam and signal lines (I see you have brake gear/hoses).

For Erie, you'd probably want some express cars as well, the more head end equipment the better....

Gentlemen,

Thanks to Allen with his Erie Pacific model and heavyweights we almost have the makings of a steam era version of the Erie Limited. I know that Rick Franzosa is working on a diesel version of the Erie Limited.

Hey Walter,

I think between the two of us, Allen and I have about 4 decades of Erie Limited covered :D
