That sure looks like a good rendition of cowpatty green. ;)

Hi Allen and Rick,
While looking up information about the NYS&W Budd commuter coaches, I came across an image of Erie Railroad milkcar #6630 in what looks to be an Erie Limited livery
Many of the passenger cars, including the American Life and Liberty sleepers, shown at freepages.history.rootsweb.ancestry.com/~tubbs/ErieLackawanna/index13.htm originally came from the diesel version of the Erie Limited.

EXCELLENT!, thanks Walter

Nice work by all hands here. I am a late comer to the Tri State project and am working on some ships for the route as well as a large skyline model of New York city and decided to make low poly high detail freight car strings for the route, but wanted to ask for advice here if anyone can suggest very good textured cars from the right era and lines. I have Erie and Lackwanna covered but Walter tells me i need to do Erie RR and Lackwanna RR before the merger and I wanted to ask for any suggestions for good quality cars that i may be able to study for texturing. I am also making loaded car floats with the right lines as well as tugs to work them..so we will have good detail for the terminals and sidings. I am making 3, 5, 7, and 15 car strings of the standard cars of the era. thanks for any suggestions...even makers names will help me track them down and consult with them re being allowed to use their textures for this project. so far people have been very nice about that and I am hopeful to create some useful scenery sets.
Ron Picard was kind enough to allow us to use his nice NY Harbour models for the floats and other shipping, and I am making more, including some of the Day Line steamers and the ferries.
and got started on the passenger low poly strings today, very basic so far plan to enahnce the textures much more once i learn all of the nuances no where near the beautiful cars in this thread by the masters but mine are only meant to be scenery helpers in the distance...
already getting some wonderful help here from some of the other workers..so much everyone is so kind and generous. I have found some good reference sites but only wish we had better colour photos for the steam era.

Folks
Here are the cars I made to go behind the Berkshire. They aren't to exact scale And most of the detail is by textures. There are no actual windows or doors and there are no interiors. They do have detailed trucks and enough other details to make them more interesting.
They are for use in Open Rails and will not run in MSTS. They work quite well in OR.
These are the cars that Walter and I discussed.
Each image in the group aren't scaled to one another.

I was asking about these. I didn't realize my first post was broadly addressing the entire thread.
