Further changes in the transmogrification of K27 will take place today. this involves rerouting some pipework and add more K37 fittings to the boiler.
Spotted another interesting book at Karen's Books.....hmmmm, will I, won't I, decisions, decisions.

The piping is amazing! How many faces on your pipes? 6 or 8?

Hi'ya Rick, eight faces, which made it easier to weld together sections at different angles. I therefore didn't cull any backfaces, so the pipes can be used either side of the boiler. Getting the pipes to run around objects, or snug them behind or in front of other objects, is the most tedious and differcult task.

OK, that's why it looks so good.
I've played around with 5 and 6 because of MSTS' poly count thing but like 8 better... for the same reasons including the visual effect of roundness.
Thanks,

To improve the 'roundness' you also use 'smoothing'.
