Trainsimulations Payware, however on the freeware side of things I'll make the following suggestions:
-Any of Paul Charland's routes (ESPECIALLY IF YOU ENJOY SWITCHING)
-London & Port Stanley
-Making Tracks Routes (Payware but Currently unavailable as Making Tracks shut down, I consider it "Abandonware" myself)
-PRR Eastern Region (requires Beefy PC)

Routes from other continents can be added to poll.
Please, specify, which of them namely to add.
There are already 16 North-American routes offered!
Thanks to all, who participated.
here are current results:
Blackfoot 3 (4 votes [11.11%])
BNSF Scenic sub. (3 votes [8.33%])
Cima Subdivision (3 votes [8.33%])
Horseshoe Curve (3 votes [8.33%])
LaSalle Rockford & Central (5 votes [13.89%])
London & Port Stanley (5 votes [13.89%])+1
Milwaukee Road East (3 votes [8.33%])+1
Monon (4 votes [11.11%])+1
NWL 6 (2 votes [5.56%])
Sandpatch Grade (1 votes [2.78%])
Surfliner 2_3 (3 votes [8.33%])
Maximum 20 variants per answer are possible, but other 20 may be added, if needed.
I ask to re-enter votes, because routes arrangement in alphabetical order have messed results, so zeros were added again.
Sorry to disturb you, but, OTOH, it's a chance to change a mind. Again, multiple answers can be added.

The best route by far is obviously the UK 'Making Tracks' GE1 Great Eastern combined with GE2 Greater Eastern :D

Of course the best route ever is that route you create yourself, no matter how good, at least you tried
