They are here in the file library.
Do a search for scale rail.

I searched the download area (and the Trainsim file library) but "No results found for 'scale rail'."

Thanks, II get an error that I don’t have access to that section of the site. It may not be open to new members I guess.

I am working on some documentation that can hopefully help other beginning route builders, and have a question about Yards. The TSRE documentation doesn’t mention yards but the OR documentation seems to suggest that they are supported. Just to confirm, does ORTS support Yard definitions (like in MSTS where you could configure a yard area and get a birdseye view)?

Indeed: IMO, it's better to get one good document, than who knows how many little special notes, being spreaded through various resources.
So, if You don't mind, do please, really add Your work into Pete's TSRE manual.

Never have encountered this.
ORTS haven't yard camera, similar to MSTS. 7 key is out of functioning.
No need in that, because it can set as many free cameras (key 8 activated, Shift+8 switchable), as player wants.
And wherever he wants.

Thanks for clearing that up!

TSRE creates "fault lines" when elevating terrain. There is a way to get around it though.

img]http://www.elvastowe...ttach_id=122181[/img]

I am loading height maps in the Canadian Rockies at 1600 meters (5200 ft) elevation. It looks as if the tiles were projected outward from sea level to that elevation, creating gaps between the tiles. When I do the same thing with the New Route Building tutorial (Mt Hope, New South Wales, Australia), which is only 150 meters / 500 feet high this does not happen. Not sure at what elevation the fault line phenomenon starts. The work around is to first create at least two tiles in TSRE before applying height maps to them. After that, the tiles are perfectly aligned at higher elevation. If you apply height to the first tile before creating any other tiles, the fault lines will appear for every subsequent tile.

HGT loading pop-up window has correction input field above.
This way, you are able to correct this stepped transition between tiles by adding/subtracting the hight in meters, when creating relief of given tile from HGT file.

I will check with Peter, the author of the route building guide, when he is back, if and where it could go. They are things that I ran into over the last month and didn’t find right away, like a one pager keyboard quick guide for TSRE (I find that keyboard hard to read), a quick overview of special objects as in everything non-static and how to use them, as not all special objects are fully supported by TSRE. I am not trying to redo what is in existing documentation already, just summarize and point to where to find the info or clarify as needed. Also making a quick overview of the various tools and where to find them, an overview of track add-ons ( xtracks, scale rail and scale road, ukfs, newroads, etc.), a glossary of terms, that sort of thing that I think could make life easier for other new route builders.
