Indeed: IMO, it's better to get one good document, than who knows how many little special notes, being spreaded through various resources.
So, if You don't mind, do please, really add Your work into Pete's TSRE manual.

For sure, that was the idea we discussed. Either in or close to the route building tutorial.

HGT loading pop-up window has correction input field above.
This way, you are able to correct this stepped transition between tiles by adding/subtracting the hight in meters, when creating relief of given tile from HGT file.

Thanks, that will be another tip for the route building guide!, iI didn’t see that in the TSRE documentation.

It's from experience.
See "small training route with potential" thread for such tips (they are even highlighted with white font)

We both mean, that Pete Willard is writing comprehensive TSRE5 manual, so our both offer was about including Your findings, related to TSRE usage into it.

I see. Sorry, I did not realize that the TSRE manual was being maintained in Github. From a quick glance at Github it seems that there is more involved in adding text proposals than just submitting them, like installing several tools and learning how to use them. I do have a couple of items that could be added to the manual but for now I will keep working with Peter on the Route Building Tutorial.

You need the 'tools' installed only if you want to generate a 'new' pdf. The documents are written in a simple text-based markdown format compatible with simple editors like context, sublime, notepad++, or vscode... not a proprietary word-like format. if I get updates, I will push out a new pdf

Sounds good, that makes it easier. Thanks

TSRE creates "fault lines" when elevating terrain. There is a way to get around it though.

After some more testing of the issue that TSRE creates fault lines between tiles at higher elevations (I tried to figure out at which elevation it starts), this does not seem to be a structural issue for the route. I believe it has to do with how TSRE builds up the image the first time after creating new tiles. When saving, closing and reloading the route in TSRE the issue disappears and the tiles are all connected as they should. Similar to the fault lines issue, I have seen a couple of times that there is a hole in the terrain on the intersection of 4 new tiles. This phenomenon disappeared as well and the image is built up correctly when re-opening the route or when moving several tiles away and returning to the location of the hole. Thought it would be good to leave this observation in case anyone runs into it in future.

So, no need to enter elevation correction?
Sounds good.
