I don't suppose there is any way to edit the water though, to look a bit more realistic, is there? That thought just came to me.

If you're referring to the ocean "water" in this route, it's only water-painted terrtex on flat terrain, which I'm in the process of replacing with Mosaic. The "actual" water in this route is generally inland (some of the rivers, bays, and harbors) and is what's controlled by the environment files. My latest shots are using the BP Summer 3 environment, which, in my opinion, has some of the best water effects available for MSTS. I'm not sure there's much else we can do water-wise for our favorite 15-year-old program, so I'm praying that ORTS will eventually get around to better water effects.

I've got the set of Env files Ottodad used for his Surfliner if anyone would like to try them out? The water is the only thing I don't like about the set.

Yep, meant the ocean water. Looking forward to seeing what you have as a replacement!

I don't know how you can do more realistic ocean? The ocean can look completely different from one day to the next depending of many conditions. So which one is realistic and who is to decide? I'm sure Paul will do something nice, but I never had an issue with what Jeff did.
Inland water can be changed to your own personal liking.

There are a couple shots of my ocean terrtex on the first page of this topic, although you'll notice it fades to the old textures near the horizon, since I haven't updated the DM textures yet.

I can't wait for this one to be available. Nothing but excellence mile after mile.
