Thank you very much. I will try this out tonight.
I think the reason I was coming up blank, was because I was expecting the EP pipes token to be displayed, rather than a minus symbol in the brake type, under the F5 brake info HUD.

Hi
Still no joy. I have no brake cylinder movement what so ever with your setup. I've tried the various options you mentioned, but same result.
There was a "B" missing from the word 'brake' but still nothing. My OR version is 1.3095

Any ideas?

Thanks

The missing B was most probably due to my copy paste of the file. I find it strange that you have problems with those settings. Perhaps you could add your complete settings here for study.

Will do.

I'm posting the settings that work for me atm -

BrakeEquipmentType( "Handbrake, Triple_valve, Auxilary_reservoir" )
BrakeSystemType( "Air_twin_pipe" )
MaxBrakeForce ( 28.6kn )
MaxHandBrakeForce( 28.6kN )
TripleValveRatio( 2.5 )
MaxReleaseRate( 10 )
MaxApplicationRate( 7.5 )
MaxAuxilaryChargingRate( 10 )
BrakeCylinderPressureForMaxBrakeBrakeForce( 50 )

AirBrakesAirCompressorPowerRating( 4 )
AirBrakesMainMinResAirPressure( 0 )
AirBrakesMainMaxAirPressure( 100 )
AirBrakesMainResVolume( 10 )
AirBrakesAirCompressorWattage( 19000 )
AirBrakesCompressorRestartPressure( 90 )
AirBrakesAirUsedPerPoundsOfBrakePipePressure( 0.3 )
AirBrakesHasLowPressureTest( 1 )
AirBrakesIsCompressorElectricOrMechanical( 1 )

TrainBrakesControllerMinPressureReduction( 0 )
TrainBrakesControllerMaxApplicationRate( 5 )
TrainBrakesControllerMaxReleaseRate( 5 )
TrainBrakesControllerEmergencyApplicationRate( 10 )
TrainBrakesControllerMinSystemPressure( 0 )
TrainBrakesControllerMaxSystemPressure( 70 )
TrainBrakesControllerFullServicePressureDrop( 20 )

BrakesEngineBrakeType( Air_twin_pipe )
BrakesTrainBrakeType( Air_twin_pipe )

BrakesEngineControllers( "Train" )

Brake_Train ( 0 1 0.10 0.3
NumNotches ( 4
Notch ( 0 0 TrainBrakesControllerReleaseStart )
Notch ( 0.10 1 TrainBrakesControllerGraduatedSelfLapLimitedHoldingStart )
Notch ( 0.90 0 TrainBrakesControllerContinuousServiceStart )
Notch ( 1 0 TrainBrakesControllerEmergencyStart )
)
)

"EP_single_pipe" or EP_twin_pipe" tokens. The f5 brake HUD just shows a "-" under brake type. I just don't understand how these tokens work for you?

Thanks

You are missing the distributor lines from the control data sections. Take another look at my file and you will see what I mean.

Yours

BrakeSystemType( "Air_twin_pipe" )
MaxBrakeForce ( 28.6kn )
MaxHandBrakeForce( 28.6kN )
TripleValveRatio( 2.5 )
MaxReleaseRate( 10 )
MaxApplicationRate( 7.5 )
MaxAuxilaryChargingRate( 10 )
BrakeCylinderPressureForMaxBrakeBrakeForce( 50 )

Mine

BrakeEquipmentType( "Triple_valve, Auxilary_reservoir" )
BrakeSystemType( "EP_single_pipe" )
MaxBrakeForce ( 30kN )
MaxReleaseRate( 20 )
MaxApplicationRate( 10 )
MaxAuxilaryChargingRate( 40.0 )

Yes, what i meant was, these are settings that i'm using now. When i use your settings, i get no brake cylinder reading, hence going back to "air_twin_pipe".
Can i ask, what does your F5 extended HUD display as the brake type ?

Thanks

Edit

I've copied and paste from your file again and still no brake cylinder reading?

I get no brake cylinder reading and the brake type is displayed as - but the system works giving me variable lap between max and release in both apply and release controller direction. The brake cylinder pressure has to be variable because looking at the F4 track monitor, the expected speed also varies with different brake application rates. To me that clearly says the system is working as intended, just not displaying correct information. That is more of a cosmetic bug than something serious.

If you drive DMUs fitted with gearboxes there is a similar condition where the first page of the HUD does not match the Force information in showing which gear is in use.

I just tried this again on a single car with cab. No brake cylinder reading, no brake force and no braking whatsoever. Have you got other cars on your train set with different brake setups? This could explain your brake force. In the Forces HUD, there is no reading for brake force.

I'm sorry but something is very wrong here. I shall continue to use the air twin with triple valve for now, because thats works 100%.
And my original post still stands, the EP brake does not partially release when using the EP token.
I cannot see OR, incorporating a brake that does not allow partial release when it should. This is a clearly a bug for this brake system.

Thanks for your time on this matter.

Up until now, I never checked what was happening in the Forces HUD. You are correct, there is zero brake force applied to the wheels. I still stand by my statement that the EP token does allow for partial release after application, based on what I see in the main HUD, which is exactly the same as an air_single or double with distributor or triple valve. There is already a bug report on this, so I have added my observations to it.
