Hello all - I just thought of a question and wanted to ask in case someone would know before doing a bunch of experimenting... For my newest Mason Bogie steam locomotive model, I would like to have the coal level in the tender animated so that it moves up and down from within the 3D Cabview as it is consumed while running, or when it is refilled. In this case though, the Mason Bogie is essentially a tank engine since it does not have a separate coupled tender .wag behind the locomotive. I was thinking how this could be set up and going back through this topic I came across post #304 here:

http://www.elvastowe...post__p__178358

I noticed that there is a supported variable in the list of "FUEL_GAUGE" and I wondered if this can be used to animate the coal load in a steam locomotive of the tank engine type, or does this parameter only work for Diesel locomotives? If this does only work for Diesel locomotives, would it be possible to add another supported variable, perhaps named "TENDER_COAL" or something similar to that?

Thanks!

On the subject of 3D cabs, would it be too much to ask to be able to load two separate shapes? Let's say, for example, that developers wanted to build basic locomotive kits with 3D cabs that used freight shapes to round out road-specific details. The repainter would be very limited unless the developer released the source files and the repainter had the skills in the same 3D program to add in the details and do all the export work. With multiple shapes, the repainter only needs to have the 3D cab load both the main and secondary shapes.

Does the circuit breaker controls i.e. (ORTS_CIRCUIT_BREAKER_DRIVER_CLOSING_AUTHORIZATION & ORTS_CIRCUIT_BREAKER_DRIVER_CLOSING_ORDER) work for 3D cab...?? I can click on the controls and circuit breaker is closed, but the switches themselves doesn't animate. I have made a two frame animation with OFF state at frame 0 and ON state at frame 1. Here is the cvf file of the same:
                TwoState (
                        Type ( ORTS_CIRCUIT_BREAKER_DRIVER_CLOSING_ORDER TWO_STATE )
                        Position ( 341 277 7 14 )
                        Graphic ( "66768387504948.ace" )
                        NumFrames ( 2 0 1 )
                        Style ( PRESSED )
                        MouseControl ( 1 )
                )
                TwoState (
                        Type ( ORTS_CIRCUIT_BREAKER_DRIVER_CLOSING_AUTHORIZATION TWO_STATE )
                        Position ( 331 277 7 14 )
                        Graphic ( "66768387504948.ace" )
                        NumFrames ( 2 0 1 )
                        Style ( ONOFF )
                        MouseControl ( 1 )
                )

Oh, and the ORTSCircuitbreaker is set to manual. Any help would be useful... :wtf01:

EDIT : Oh, and the pantograph lever also doesn't animate. Open Rails just don't detect the lever (the mouse cursor don't change its shape to that "grabbing hand" shape). I have named it PANTOGRAPH:0:0 according to the manual.

EDIT 2 : Just checked and same problem is with 4 circuit breaker display states too, they don't animate in 3D cab... :help:

Can you provide a link for a loco and a cab which can be used to analyse this?
