The two leaders have also characteristically suffered from turbo failures relatively recently, with the second unit having received a primered hood section over the engine compartment.

Subsidiary company California Northwestern Railroad, AAR reporting mark CNWR has several operations with their mainline running south to north from Winters, CA to Lakeport, CA a total of roughly 90 miles, or about three hours running time end to end at an average of 60 miles per hour.First photo is of CNWR 81, an SD60M built for Western American Railway in 1990. Sold to CNWR in 2009, is part of the flagship of CNWR's roster. CNWR depart Winters interchange yard for Lakeport after picking up its train.

An interesting feature of the CNWR Mainline Division is the many loops seen on the railroad. Impressive mountains call for impressive grades.https://farm1.staticflickr.com/921/43579622372_0abc46c715_o.jpg
Another addition to CRCP's collection is the acquirement of Bombardier equipment to act as a supplement of the Commuter and Passenger systems. Officially introducing Petaluma & Palm Bay Railroad, a subsidiary merger of former WARY subsidiaries Palm Bay Railroad Museum, and Palm Bay Terminal Railroad. As the name suggests, the shortline will operate between Petaluma, CA and Palm Bay, CA. CRCP will no longer run trains past Petaluma, as the company no longer wishes to operate anything other than Commute trains west of Petaluma. PPB will also operate the Museum trains. PPB 38 leads the first train out of Palm Bay two weeks ago.https://farm1.staticflickr.com/913/43579621492_2eb4d15a43_o.jpg2

The dinner train has landed!

When CNWR was being formed, it was decided that they would operate the dinner trains over all of their divisions which are: NWP Mainline Petaluma JCT and Willits; Kenwood Branch (Ex-PBRR main truncated between Rutherford and Kenwood) between Kenwood, CA and Sonoma, CA; Caymus Branch (Ex-PBRR main truncated between Rutherford and Caymus, roughly 1.4 miles) between Caymus and Winters JCT; and the CNWR Mainline between Winters, CA and Lakeport, CA. Well, that's that. The images you see above and the background behind the subjects are works in progress of a fictional I have invested six years into. Plenty more in the works.Enjoy!

REALLY like that background mountain texturing. Are those "standard" tiles being rendered or "Distant Mountain" tiles?
Was this picture taken within ORTS or MSTS?
How did you go about getting those textures onto the mountain terrain?

I'm using TSRE being developed by Goku who is here on Elvas Tower. The process is straight-forward, really. In TSRE, in the Terrain Menu, there is an option for loading Google Maps onto the terrain, as well as an option to make the image a texture for the terrain. This is mostly temporary, until I can get the route (which is fictional) finished...someday.

ORTS: What have you set your "draw distance" for standard tiles? I have yet to reinstall ORTS on this newer machine, so it's moot right now, but curious.
Sounds like soon I will need to seriously look into TRSE5 and get ORTS reinstalled.
All fer now!

Way! The development of the main program may be slow (so many bugs, so many people working on 'em. Eventually the simulator will be seemless. Now if only track laying could be faster...

Piece of cake, Andre. Took all of about 3 minutes to install ORTS on my new Win 7 rig. http://www.elvastower.com/forums/public/style_emoticons/default/pleasantry.gif Just don't install on the main drive.
