Cascades Northern local headed by 4-6-2 621. It would be many years before there would even be any talk of a merger with Cascades Western in 1973. This was a very nice and very unexpected birthday gift from a friend here on the forums. :)

Not too many people know this, but the origins for my Chicago, Miskawaka, & Toledo came from, of all things, a Krypto the Superdog fan-fiction. The fan-fiction died, but the railroad lived on and has matured over the years and became the fictional regional railroad that I know and love today. I made this image as sort of a reminder of where the CM&T originally came from.

The CM&T's power roster has gone from ex-SP SD-7s, ex-BN E9s, a 4-8-4, and an LS&I 2-8-0 to a large, diverse mix of motive power ranging from ex-New York Central GP-7s to ex-Pennsy SD40s and U-boats to brand new, first-hand SD70MACs and C44-9Ws.

Anyway, here's a "Flat Top" Class doing what it does best, dragging freights up steep grades and around very bizarre places. :blink:
