Could I have an access to the SVN server ? It will be easier for me to update the translations.

I don't have administrative rights over the svn server, so it's not my turn to decide, but based on past experience, you should pick up a dozen of bugs from our bug tracker, and provide fixes for them first, just to prove you think it seriously. :clapping:

Ok, I'll do it once I finish my French CCS system and the translation of RunActivity.

Have you started the RunActivity? I'm asking just because I've made some preliminary stuff with that already, so if you haven't started it yet, then I finish it. This method you introduced (gettext) is really cool! :clapping:

Ah, it's ok if you already started it.

I worked mainly on my TCS script last week. I had to finish the KVB and to implement the TVM300 so as to not block the TGV at 220 km/h.
I'm currently having trouble trying to switch between the systems because... the line on which I do my tests do not have correct speed limits in Paris Est station ("Lignes du Grand Est" on the Paris - Strasbourg line). For example, a 320 km/h speed limit... in a zone where it should be 30 km/h... :D
I would say f*** it, it's a problem of the route... so I will have to modify the route itself in order to have something coherent. :clapping:

Edit : Guess I will have to do my test on LGV Atlantique... and its weird overhead wire...

For James and Peter, I've found in the Gettext.Net examples a way to locate the po files automatically.
Look at Source\3rdPartyLibs\GNU.Gettext\Examples.Hello\po-compile-translations.cmd
I think we can adapt it to our need.

That one also uses a list for looping through, but picking up the idea, something like this could be done instead (untested):
for /R ..\Source\Locales\Menu %F in (*.po) do (
    GNU.Gettext.Msgfmt.exe -l %~nF -r ORTS.Menu -d .\ -L GNU.Gettext.dll ..\Source\Locales\Menu\%~nxF
)

For in game interface, there seems to be some problems (using the hungarian language currently in the repository):
1. the HUD window prompts are still in English, even though the strings are translated
2. if I try to translate the strings in DebugViewerWindow, when I hit Ctrl-9 to see the window, the strings are still in English.

Confirmation seems to be translated properly, also F1-F9 windows.

I haven't targeted HUD with translation yet. So currently it is by design. Needs some further discussion to decide if anyone would have a problem with translating that, since that is normally for debug purposes only, not for the players. Any opinion by others?

I'm aware of the issue with DebugViewerForm, that was not translated yet, but I will commit the "translatability" today or tomorrow. Also there is a problem currently with basenames of gettext resource manager changed with the new auto-build script. So translations don't work with current SVN version (r2043), but I will commit the fix for that as well soon (by modifying the basename to match the build script).

And I cannot say enough thanks to Serana for making this all possible. :)

I have a question, say if I add a new button to the start menu, will people need to create new .po files?

They won't have to create a new file, but they will have to update their PO file so that it contains the new string.
That's why the POT model file is now generated at each compilation.
