Hi there,

Long time since last update, but i finaly got one again!
I completely restarted the route from the groud up, hoping to give it a more mature look and feel. It's a bit based on a real (small) Interurban network in ME. The first version will hold a 10 mile long railway. When finnished, there will be 2 lines.

Here are the first 3 WIP screen shots:

Train underway from New Holland to Mapleton at the railway bridge over the River.

Attached File  rss2.jpg (670.3K)

Mapleton freight station.

Attached File  rss3.jpg (472.88K)
Number of downloads: 6
Overview of Mapleton Station. there are in total 2 tracks over here, the 2nd track is mostly used for freight trains.

everything is still pretty much WIP and i hope to show screen shots from New Holland and other interresting places soon!

Cheers,
Bob

Hello Bob,

I'm looking forward very much to the progress that you make here. I remember the MSTS New Holland Traction route, and that was a most excellent little route. Seeing both incarnations in this thread, you certainly have not lost your touch!

Zach

(I also notice your choice of rolling stock...great to see someone besides me using it! :)

Hi Zach, :) and those interurbans fit better on this route than a PCC car... It would be nice to see more Interurbans in the future, but untill then i'll use those. Their not that bad looking in this sim either.. (and they kinda fit nice on this route ;) ) :-)

Anyway, here is a new update on Mapleton, which is slowly getting into shape after a evening of Scenery placement...

1. Mapleton Station, more scenery on this screen, but still WIP. Train towards Bradfort stops at the station. I removed the 2nd platform, so there is only one platform left!

2.Later on, i went to Everest Street to take a picture from the train going to New Holland.
Attached File  rss4.jpg (550.66K)

3. It didn't take long untill another train drove by back to Bradfort. I wonder when those men will go to work again.....
Attached File  rss5.jpg (532.19K)
Number of downloads: 14

4. Scenery Between Everset Street and Mapleton Station. (probarly a nice preview of how the route will look like when it's finnished!)

Number of downloads: 9

Have fun watching!

Cheerz
Bob

And another update!

I reached the Old Greenwood Farming community with Scenery. There is a little halt on the Old Greenwood Road where local services stop on request.

1. Express service at the Old Greenwood Rd. towards Mapleton with an additional Freigth car on the train for a customer in Bradfort.

Number of downloads: 21

2. Local Train from Bradfort stopped at the Old Greenwood Halt to let a passenger enter the train to New Holland. The guy on the roof (tries) to fix a leak...
Attached File  Rss9.jpg (609.39K)
Number of downloads: 28

3. To give the people of the Greenwood Community a little advantage, they build this pad to the farmlands where they work on, so no one has to cross the tracks on a less safe way...
Attached File  Rss10.jpg (774.02K)
Number of downloads: 29

4. Local Train going Southbound towards new Holland, the lovebirds are still there...
Attached File  Rss11.jpg (826.32K)
Number of downloads: 33

5. And the last screen of the Old Greenwood Community, A 3 car long Express train running trough Old Greenwood because of an event that takes place in New Holland!

That is for tonigth... enough building for one day, tomorrow a grand new day to build! B)

I don´t own RW or any other sim than MSTS / ORTS and Trainz2010 so I never really get to look at Content for those, but that accident-click on this thread Shows real miracles to me! A pitty I won´t probably get to run it, Looks so real!

Cheers, Markus

Thanks Markus!

I started with Railworks for this kind of Realism. ^_^ Just for info: if you ever want to buy Railworks, just wait for a Steam sale, can give you a nice large discount :-)

But back on topic.

I had less time to build on the route today, but still enough to have things done.

And the Railway Bridge over the river (No name yet, good names are welcome!) with an express service to Bradfort

So.. is this a real route of a Fictional route?!?

Or maybe both?

To give the truth... this route is based on the Aroostook Valley Railway Trail in Maine. Most of the scennery is placed like it is in Real life, altough i do make some minor changes to benefit this route. So i think people who live arround there should be alble to recognise a lot ;).

Cheers
Bob

Thanks!

anyway.. not much progress on the route at the moment. Iv'e been toying arround with 3dsMax for the last couple of days to make some new content that North America lacks the most!

here are the results from my first try:

Express train departs from Mapleton Station to go to Bradfort. This is one of the few places where trains can pass each other. The other (local service) train just came from Bradfort with 2 freight cars for a local factory in New Holland.

Another Local train, this time at old Greenwood Rd. going to New Holland.

Now if we could get that quality and detail in OR, then I'd be very happy.

I like the detailing and scenery, it's tops!

Cheers Bazza
