Had this running in OR today. Works great and looks good although it is a little to speedy. Pretty amazing with the number of animations. I may finish at least the "A" portion soon. Need a break from the Berk.

Allen,
The OR team has been testing a new physics model for geared locos. We've been getting promising results with protypical low end pulling power and a top end that maxes out at 20 mph.

Chris

I can't tell you what a great exhilaration it is to speculate how a model is going to work and to actually see it work flawlessly the first time. Many of the animations I had the feeling would never have worked in MSTS. This particular model has 24 key frame animations plus the wheels and trucks. The naming conventions for the rods and wheels was a pure guess and I had no idea whether they would work or not. Even the inter connected shafts follow the main shafts perfectly. Dumb luck the first time.

What a rush this day has been!

Chris

I have to tell you a couple of more things I really like about OR. I love the fact that the #2 camera view doesn't bounce off the bounding boxes of the locomotive's and car's. The other thing is the visual clarity of the models and shadows. It's so cool to watch the shadows recede and retire as the sun traverses the sky. You guys did excellent on this.

Capt.

So sorry. I had uploaded a couple of images and when I tried to post them it kicked them out of the message. We'll try again.

One is from OR and the other from Shape Viewer.

Another shot of the Shay this morning with the trailer attached and running.
Needs a lot of adjustment but doesn't work to bad. I love it when a plan comes together.
OR version is the 677.

More WSLCo Shay shots in OR version 677. Locomotive has been adjusted for spacing and couplers and a couple of more textures applied.
Here she is with a string of Tim Muirs Sumpter Valley log flats. Will have to make some WSLCo cars to go with this old Shay.

Still have a long way to go on the Berkshire yet Walter. It has way to many parts at the moment to even think about generation. And still more to add. And parts can't be joined until all the texturing is finished. It will be a while yet. Be patient.

But once in a while I need to do something else to keep me from going crazy. Looking at one model day after day is a bit much.
