New update: http://koniec.org/ts...SRE5_v0.672.exe
- experimental satellite images support
Now works fine only around 40-55 lat. Different results around the world.
Poland for example:
http://i.imgur.com/pa8Xhqw.jpg
Using this feature requires google maps api key. Without it sooner or later you will see grey image instead of satellite view.
1. Create google maps api key.
2. Enable static maps for your key.
3. Place key in settings.txt. example below:
googleMapsKey = AIzaSyB1whjhasdshkashasdasdhaskdt1Et9g4

Wow! :cool3: Do you mean that the picture is only displayed, or that it is transformed in Terrtex?

It could be done, but I think it looks nice only on mountains:

:jawdrop2: Love it on mountains! Now let's see ... lasso or polygon-select the trees in the image and extrude for some height, with a little smoothing and randomness on the surface to make it look right ...
Regarding the 4-track limit on levelcr: I suspect that Kuju figured that's all they needed for the Northeast Corridor route they were doing, so that's all they needed. Number fits conveniently into a nibble (1/2 byte) or even, really, just 2 bits. Real world is different, and there are places where a road crosses a yard with many tracks, but the way Kuju did the routes they didn't need any more.

Great to see Google maps being implemented, Is there a way to incorporate historical imagery for rail lines that are no longer around Such as for example the Iowa division of the Milwaukee Road.
Also I am hopeful there is still in the works or will be a feature to add a entire section for a TBD rebuild with one stroke of a mouse click or key.

Goku, I have an idea that could be interesting and handy for TSRE.
How about the possibility to add new objects into the .ref file and being able to group them to the existing .ref? And maybe also the possibility to read other route's .ref files and being able to add them into the route you're working on?
I'm not sure if this is OK to do just like that, but at least the possibility to add new objects would be quite nice.
