Thanks for the feedback. It's good to know that you enjoy the 3d cabs.
The cabs do appear as brand new, and maybe this reflects the condition in the era where a lot of the routes are set?
I had thought of making the cabs a bit more scruffy, but it takes a bit of skill to do it well. I might try it, now you've mentioned it.
Cheers, Geoff

Just a little input on 3D Cabs...
Two things I've noticed that are sorely lacking...
- Camera Isolation - I'm spoiled with my steam locomotives and the isolated camera view (not linked to vibrations) I get by using the tender passenger views slewed to the locomotives "headout" position - as it gives relative motion to the view as if your head is moving around independently inside a moving locomotive... Whenever I switch to a view that is linked to the vibrations - it seems awfully stale, flat, and fake... I humbly request - when someone has some time - investigate isolating the camera in the 3D Cab as it will greatly increase immersion while using them...
- Predefined Camera Views - since movement in the cab is still somewhat cumbersome and awkward - I'd suggest that we implement multiple predefined camera views for inside the 3D cab - potentially sequenced by a single key press - or some other trigger... We found a tool like this essential when transitioning from 2D panels to 3D cockpits in flight sim - years ago - then you can easily cycle around the cab possibly looking closely at various instruments or controls in an efficient manner...
Just my thoughts - thanks for the consideration...
Regards,
Scott

I tested it, and it works.
You can try to derive how the author solved this.
Hi not sure if this is where I should pose this question or not so if I am in the wrong place forgive me and let me know. I am working on a new 3d cabview. It is for an ACS-64 which has cabs at both ends. Most everything is working well with a couple of exceptions. On the forward facing end all of my digital displays work and display properly. I have created the same displays actually speedlim_display, speedometer, digital , and traction_braking, and acceleromter digital. I added the additional entries in my .cvf file and they are named correctly example speedlim_display:0:20 and speedlim_display:1:20 . In my rear cab section none of the digital displays show although their counterpart gauge displays work at both ends. The .s file I am creating is a single .s file with separate cab sections at both ends I also remembered to check the control count in the .cvf so that it matches the actual number of controls in the file. I have tried all sorts of things such as fliping the z on the parts I always reset the axis to world and make sure it is where I want the display to be. Any Ideas or help would be greatly appreciated as I am about at my wits end as to why these controls wont work while the same type controls at the other end work.
thanks

If you could send me the cab files, I will have a look to see if I can spot anything wrong.
Send to mrmosky@yahoo.co.uk if you can. I will need the entire cabview3d folder.
I can't promise to fix it but it's worth a go.
