Been spending more time on Google Earth, looking at the Grandview area of Arkansas. Andre's A&O Sub (V Scale Creations) is set in the 1980's so there would likely have been a few changes between then and now, even on a protolanced route, but I was struck by the number of large open fields, bounded by hedges and small areas of woodland, so...
Net result of about 3 hours work. All textures reworked from Andre's. Multiple layers, lightening and colour brightening to arrive at the fairly dried dullish green seen in many of the fields on Google Earth (can never be more than an average colour, to be adapted or altered as desired). Only placed some field systems North of the line to the West of Grandview so far. but I am encouraged to continue. Great coming under the bridge in the first shot to see an open field and distant views of woods set back about a quarter mile, with more over some other fields about a mile away.

Rod,
Excellent shots there my good friend. Now that looks like Midwest farmland that I am familiar with.
BTW - I think I owe you an email!!

The best I've seen....a true 'dreamscape'. Splendid workmanship.
Cheers Bazza :)

Thank you all very much :). Paul, red face for me, I thought that I had. Will grab some time tonight once the house quietens down :)
3 more shots - slowly moving West. Compare the first of this new set with the third of the last set. The last in this set is the next area to tackle, and the farthest West that the farmland goes until beyond Tunnel (per Google Earth) - just up to the bend in the dirt road where it goes over the crossing. Will then move South of the track and back towards Grandview.

Could I please have the address for the house? I'm looking to buy something more peaceful than my So Cal surroundings. :)

More peaceful? - need to be careful of your new neighbours Marc - to the East lives a guy making moonshine & mountain dew to industrial standards :) :) and to the West is Ole Coonskin's Whizz Bang & Gunpowder Manufactory :) (newly established, highly illegal, but lots of fun :) ) -
