It would be so nice if the OR team could find the resources willing to write a .tdb/.rdb rebuild program, one that gives a useful explanation for where something has gone wrong )instead of just aborting).

Hi Derek,

I attach the files you need to see. The file named plain tsection is my route tsection.dat file (for some reason Windows10 seems not to display the file extension for .dat and .txt files). The numbered tsection files are the global files just in case you need to see them. I was using build 42 until this thread started then tried 44 with no difference in performance.

Yes, I am using TSRE 7.012.

Many thanks for you interest in this issue.

Martin

I looked at the 53611 error and the last entry in the route tsection is 53606.
This means that your last route edit did NOT write the information to the route tsection.

I have also had a very close look at the differences between your tsection 42UK and the current v56.

The 42UK came about someone changed the distance to the point blades that dramatically altered the stopping distance to points with UKFS.
Later versions included the changes from 42UK.

So at this point 56 and later version are compatable with UKFS and stopping distances.

Thank you, Derek, for looking at the tsection files and for your replies.

Does this mean that in order to remove the warnings from the log I was right to add the "missing" track sections to the tsection file manually?

It's almost as if you don't have the "writeTDB = true" line in the settings enabled.

Good thought, Randy, but no, writeTDB is set to "true".

Definitely not, you should never edit the route tsection, unless you understand the consequences.

So I wonder what has caused TSRE to not add the "missing" track sections to the tsection file. If indeed these are genuine track sections. Is it possible to identify where these track sections might be in the route assuming they in fact exist.

Hi Martin,

TSRE has some bugs that may or may not be fixed.

Given that OR has reported the errors in the log, they are real to OR.

Finding them in the TDB is another ballgame entirely.

Your missing 53611 is probably a right hand curve given that the number is odd. Dynamic track sections are allocated in pairs. Straights get even numbers and the next number will be unused. Curves use even for left hand and odd for right hand. Both are needed because one vector section needs to be reversed when two track are joined. So your file is also missing 53610 and probably also 53608. Your also missing the TrackPath entries that use these numbers (but I don't know if those are used).

I have some code that can compute the curves needed for each piece of track in a TDB. I might be able to figure out what the missing sections are if you attach a copy of the tdb file.
