That odd Derek, I just had a look at the route that is uploaded on TrainSim.com and the route does contain the proper Snow textures in the download.

This is interesting. I had a look at the last version of the route, the one that was sent out for testing, the one the testers said was working great, the only that was zipped up and posted to the TrainSim library. I checked the Snow Texture folder and there were 87 files. I then checked the saved version before it was run through Route-Riter and compacted, there are 128 snow texture files.

I'm getting too old to keep chasing bugs that are created out of my control. Think this will be my last route.

Paul

A reinstall of xtracks 3.21 appears to have fixed my problem.

Hi Derek,

That would fix the track snow textures but what I've found is when route-Riter compacted the route for what I thought was the final version, it deleted about 46 snow textures ( who knows what else). This isn't the first time R-R deleted files that were used by a route, but this is by far the worst.

I think I'll have to end up zipping up an uncompacted version of the route and have Nels remove the one that's in the library now. This is a bit of a hassle now that TS added a size limit for route files.

Paul :-)

That's better Derek but if you had all the files for snow textures all the trackside vegetation would either be trees with no foliage or invisible. If R-R deleted so many show textures when it compacted the route I wonder how many other files it deleted.

I'm sorry for near-to offtop (excuse myself, if this route demands that package actually), but:
Where can I get Xtracks 3.21, is that most recent, and is it compatible with 3.2, what I have now?

Yes, it is compatable.
Available at trainsim.com, search for "*xtracks*"

The other day someone posted a screenshot of an activity that was taken during winter. I thought it odd that most of his tracks didn't have snow on them and his trackside vegetation was still green. After a few exchanges I started looking through the saved versions of the ONR route only to find that while the copy I have here has 129 Snow textures, the same copy that I ran through Route-Riter and used their "Compact Route" feature not only removed any unwanted files but also removed 46 snow texture files. Over the years I've had Route-Riter remove the odd file that was still needed in the route, but bever this bad.

As a result, I've had Nels remove the ONR route from the Trainsim.com library and this morning it was replaced with the route after it was run through Route-Riter without using the Compact Route, only deleted the raw terrain files that will regenerate the first time you open the route.

Sorry for any inconvenience.
