I have a copy of a spreadsheet which was the result of extensive analysis:

2020-08-19 15_26_18-MS Excel with extensions - OR Parameters.xlsx.jpg

The author has clearly thought a lot about parameters, so we ought to have a chat before I go ahead and add "a compendium of all the parameters" into the manual.

Can anyone tell me who contributed it?

Looks like me. Is this from the first attempt or the update?

I'd be willing to help in trying to incorporate relevant bits into the manual. It would require some thought beforehand though.

John

Obviously, all questions at topic about unclear strins during translation, has almost the same reason: that things was't found in Manual.

That would be great. I've sent you a PR.

Something else for this thread.

I notice that there is nothing in the manual about "timetable sets" or the related file extension ".timetablelist-or".

I wonder if anyone has used these features apart from Rob who created them. They won't even know about them if they're not mentioned anywhere except on Elvas Tower.

As well as weather-files (did anyone sayed about it hear?)

P.S.

I've seen here (maybe, I even asked that personally, but Rob gave full info as always-long life to him)
No doubt, the TTMode chapter dated 2017 has to be reworked.
Maybe, I should try to translate it, as soon as I will have comprehensive information-a complete and actual english description; because it's very important for me personally(so I want to digest and understand fully all that related with this feature) and may be essential for auditory to know new capabilityes of ORTS in that kind.
The new user of ORTS shouldn't showel all around forums to know all about this part of simulation-there has be adequate Manual for reference.

A compendium of all the "ORTS" parameters organized into logical areas...wag section; eng section; brakes, route, sounds, etc. A usage manual with correct examples and perhaps a set of templates incorporating the "ORTS" parameters.

With help from John (RR1) and his comprehensive spreadsheet, work on this has started and index entries are being added to the manual.

On a separate topic, thanks to Ryan for updating the timetable documentation (currently in the Unstable version).

I've seen several times that there is no mention in the manual of the enhanced operation of labels for platforms and sidings which filter out ones that are not relevant to an activity.

If one of you can post here the text that's missing, I'll get that added too.

Thanks,

Is it worth compiling something for content developers that might point them in the right direction if the get one of those rather long-winded errors in the log file? I have a text file with several from my signal projects so I know what kind of mistake to look for

I think it would be interesting to have a guide to errors related to the paths in the log file.
