Ya know, just this minute I opened it locally on OneDrive and it opened quickly and looked different from when I opened the downloaded file on my laptop...using my desktop win7 machine. Will try to download and open right now.
Wait a minute...OneDrive is a microsoft service...well of course they're going to BLEEP with other browsers, if you don't use theirs. Can't we use GitHub for this? or some OpenSource service? Maybe someone else will try to download with Firefox or some other browser, make sure it's just not me.

Hi Gerry,

My wife's computer has Libreoffice not Open Office. But they are very similar or should be for a simple spreadsheet.

It took about 2 seconds to download (most of that time was probably the virus scan) and about 3-4 seconds to open in Libreoffice. Sorry, but I have no idea why Open Office would be so slow.

John

Maybe you opened my old one? It was a bit of a monster.

Okay, I downloaded to my desktop machine, took just as long to open and I took some screenshots when it opened...same thing I saw on the laptop. There are other anomolies in the sheet, gaps in the columns, misalignments, perhaps the zip file is corrupted. I'm at a loss also. I'll keep messing around with it. Open and Save it as an open office calc file see if that helps. puzzling.

That is bizarre. It behaved the same as Excel in Libreoffice. I guess I need to download Open Office and see what happens . . .

edit - Wait, you said zip file? How are you getting a zip file? When I downloaded from OneDrive on my wife's laptop (no OneDrive accounts on her laptop), the download was not zipped. I simply opened the .xlsx file in the download folder using Libreoffice. No unzipping. That is where the corruption is occurring.

I'm using the link in post#48 and OneDrive shows a zip file...OR_Share.zip. Inside is OR_ParametersV4.xlsx dated 1/25/2021

screenshot of zip and extract to folder on desktop

I have no idea where the zip is coming from. OneDrive does not show a zip file on either my or my wife's computer so I have no idea where that zip is coming from. I sure didn't create it.

By the way, what browser are you using? The zip must be a browser thing?

Sorry for the delay in replying...my provider appears to be having troubles today....I'm using the latest version of firefox...but it is news to me that it makes up zip files...never seen that with any other downloads.

No problem. Maybe I'll install Firefox on my machine (Win 10) and see what happens.

It could just be Microsoft BLEEPing with other browsers, isn't OneDrive their service? Couldn't we use an opensource point of delivery...or even maybe GitHub? Maybe I should try to log on as a guest, if that's at all possible? screenshot of what download page looks like in firefox

Second screenshot shows what happened when I clicked on circle in upper right hand part of square, now download is choice of xlsx file, downloaded to desktop and trying to open now.
