Thanks Peter.
Rev. 55.1 is out, including a small improvement to the TCS enhancements.

Hello,

I have been a silent member of this forum since last year. I am posting out of urgency because I have possibly made a mistake in obtaining the monogame.

On Friday March 20, I decided it was time to look into upgrading my OR to monogame, but rather than smartly coming here, I googled and followed a youtube tutorial:

https://www.youtube....qvHehHxXw4&t=1s

this tutorial linked to https://github.com/p...eases/tag/MG3.7 and also said to get a program called Open AL to work with openrails.

My antivirus software immediately flagged this version of the monogame when I launched it, but I dismissed the warnings. I only realized when playing that monogame a second time yesterday, that running a route in winter season, vegetation was appearing in non winter textures. I then came to this forum last night and realized that I hadn't downloaded the official or recent monogame versions from links in this discussion topic, and I began to have concerns about the origin of the file I had downloaded and installed. I deleted that folder and replaced it with the links Carlos provides and it is running without the previous errors I noticed and seems to work beautifully.

So my remaining concern is what did I download first?

I am not familiar with all the OR team members so I am hoping that user perpetualkid is one, and I have nothing to worry about other than a bit of wasted time installing an older more buggy version and then replacing it with the appropriate one. Can anyone reassure me?

Many thanks!

Hi,
first of all you can be reassured that perpetualKid is an OpenRails developer.
However that video is misleading in some aspects.
There are actually three versions of Openrails that are based on Monogame.
1) The official one, that you can download from here http://www.openrails...wnload/program/ , selecting the Testing version (which is not Monogame), then going to the Updater options, selecting the "Unstable" radio button, returning to the main menu, and clicking on the link on the upper right.
2) perpetualKid's one, which is unofficial, and which you can download from here https://github.com/p...g/144-d77821976 , and which you maintain updated as described at that link.
3) OR NewYear MG, which is unofficial, and whose story is in this thread, and which you can download from here http://www.interazio..._NewYear_MG.zip , and whose updates you obtain by downloading them at the same address (no automatic update available for this version).

All three versions work. Only the second and the third one provide true 64bit operation.
Downloading OpenAL files is not needed as of now for these three versions.
