I have now a release that displays gradients, as suggested by Dave. The gradient is displayed only if it is not equal 0.

Carlo, could there be an option to allow other gradient formula, ie 1 in 100 ( for 1% )?.
I know the UK and Australia use this method.

Thanks

Nice addition to the track monitor. My suggestion is to have a grade ahead/behind graph chart since we need to know what grade is ahead or behind an not just the grade are head end is occupying on. Simply put the graph in a 3 mile radius horizontal graph.

The railroad I work for here in the US has been testing a GE product called Trip Optimizer. It's basically an auto pilot that runs the train while you are running on clear signals. Anyway a side feature is a display that shows you a elevation profile of about a 5 or 6 mile stretch of track. It highlights the area that your train is currently occupying so you can see where your train is relative to the terrain. A similar type of profile might be very helpful.

Milepost indications in track monitor are now available in x.3671.
Showing a gradient chart is surely a good improvement, but is beyond the scope of the present task.

When mileposts are built to proper scale in the sim, they are often very difficult to read for us "older" folks.

When mileposts are built to proper scale in the sim, they are next to impossible for anyone to read at speed. Not just you old codgers ;)

I've spent a fair amount of time hopping out of the cab into the free camera to go find the nearest milepost to read.

I also think a grade profile would be beneficial but only in a horizontal configuration. Perhaps a second type of Track Monitor window would/could be devised for this.

I always wished the OR Track Monitor (the vertical one) would show switches like the MSTS Monitor does. But I've never suggested it, I don't think.

Perhaps something like the F5 HUD screen. F4 turns the track monitor on/off. Shift F4 cycles through the standard and standard + elevation profile.

Thanks for implementing this, it was great to be able to see the milepost indications once again and having the grade shown means i can leave the F5 off screen for longer periods now, makes things less cluttered again many thanks.
