@midneguy: I was able to reproduce the crash, and to find a fix. Pls. try release x.3547.

Carlo - it looks like you got it!

I just did a quick test on the Feather River Keddie turntable, the Silverton V2, and the Rollins Pass route - and I wasn't able to make the crash happen after multiple rotations and moves on each turntable.

Awesome and thanks! http://www.elvastower.com/forums/public/style_emoticons/default/bravo.gif

I don't think you can animate a turntable in the same way as a signal or switch. It has to be considered like a wheel on a steam locomotive where the animation is defined for the full rotation. If you are still using (0,180,0) the behaviour you see is what I would expect to see because that says move from 0 to 180 then back to 0. To achieve smooth full rotation at slow speed does require a lot more steps in the animation.

The third animation step must be 360, and then it rotates the right side. It is not needed to have intermediate steps to have smooth motion, there is an interpolation calculation that provides for that.

midneguy: that's good!

The animation was set up as 0, 180, 360 where 360 is 0 again since once you pass 359.9 you hit 0.

Hi midneguy,
there is a request from the french forum http://forum.activit...ulatorworld.net about the turntable N1t16mTurntable . May I attach your file N1t16mTurntable Animate Rotate.txt there?

Do any routes use "ukfs_tt_68ft.s"?

Apologies for the late response, but I've only just started investigating UK routes!

Bristol to Birmingham route uses 5 x ukfs_tt_68ft, 6 x ukfs_tt_65ft and 1 x ukfs_tt_42ft turntables
Somerset & Dorset route uses 5 x ukfs_tt_68ft and 1 x ukfs_tt_65ft turntables
SouthEast route uses 3 x ukfs_tt_42ft and 2 x ukfs_tt_65ft turntables

I have determined which tiles they occupy, but as far as sorting out the rotation or off-set parameters, I'm afraid I have no idea!!

Up to date, I've only checked four routes - the other one is MidEast Plus, which doesn't have any turntables.

Cheers,
Ged

Ged, my investigation has shown that it is also used in "Loco Works", SDJR, "Thames Trent 2" and Watersnake. The smaller versions of the same turntable are also used in several other routes.

Also "A1t27mTurntable.s" is used in "Black Country 1", CC5, "Peak Line", Settle, "Skipton V2" and IOM1.

Thanks for the Operational-Turntable. I thought it never would exist for OR/MSTS.

Another good news: The turntable works also perfectly in Sicilia 1 - 1950, where it is really needed for the steam locomotives. Follow instructions of #13 for the .trk file and copy without changes turntables.dat from OpenRails folder in Sicilia 1 to same folder in Sicilia 1 - 1950 (Turntable has same position). Prepare a PATH and enjoy the turntable with a Steam Locomotive.

Once more many thanks for all your efforts

Ernst

Hi,
The UKFS turntables appear to be constructed differently to the default 27m turntable.

The 42ft and 65ft turntables have 12 SectionIDx entries in the tsection.dat file and the 68ft has 10. Would it still be possible to animate them?

Cheers,
Ged
