There are posts on other forums about scenery object "flashes" in OR. I continue to experience them, as well. It seems that certain scenery object textures will "flash" in huge dimension while one is running the sim. I seem to remember some discussion some time back that it might be video card or video setting specific. Does anyone know what causes this issue, and what settings, etc. could be modified to change it?

My particular video card is a AMD Radeon HD 7700 Series 1 GB card being run slightly overclock at 1125 mHz.

Thanks for any help.

For WIW, I also have an AMD card - Radeon HD7770 1GB, and see flashing on some routes, e.g. the water in TIR.

I've had flickering, or shimmering with forest objects. The only way I have reduced this is by saving my ace files out in AceIt. DXTBmp and TgaTools2. This also seems to reduce flickering of fences as well.

Let's see. the water flashes on the DAR route but not the Conn River route. The same trackside vegetation flashes on the DAR but not on the Conn River but now I'm going to have to check and see if that's a time of day thing with the veggies or not.

Paul :-)

Does unchecking 'model instancing' from the video options menu improve this problem or not ?

Not for me and it is hit or miss as mentioned above.

Again, FWIW- I had distracting Flicker on an nVidia 9800GT 1Gb particularly on Trees.
Replaced it with a nVidia GTX 960 2Gb (~$180) No Flicker on anything, ever!

Ive ran Open Rails on GTX 670, 770, 970, 960, 750, 660 and all had flickering, including an old 9800GT and 7900GT. Id like to trace back when this whole flickering thing started for me, but is been a few years.

EDIT: Just tried a couple routes in an old 0.7 version (0.7.0.905 to be exact) 0.8 (0.8.0.1251) and 0.9 (X2914) and experienced no flickering. These I think are stable releases of that particular version? I tested this on the Horseshoe and Pocahontas routes and experience almost immediate flickering on both routes with the latest release (3500) and releases prior. This to me as I have tested this several times for myself in the past seems to debunk the theory its a driver issue and not OR itself.

Hi Paul,
In TIR, I see the river next to the engine shed flashing between blue and brown when I change my view angle.
