Where there is only one "\", there was already only one in the unicode for the registry repairer.

Okay, I've run the registry repairer, but even with another fresh RR install I couldn't get it to find the MSTS file path. So I ran the regedit routine, and finally found something:
registry editor entry.jpg (198.17K)
Number of downloads: 1
The folder is there this time, but there are not any "EXE Path" or "Path" entries! At least, not as I recognize them.
Now what? Do I have to run the whole install from CD now? After that, what is the next step? I've got a miniroute and several routes that are not default MSTS install, and as for procedure I can only assume that I am supposed to copy-paste my current install over the "new" CD install or something. :unknw:

Hi Bernie,
The important entries are missing! This is only a suggestion, which might just give you what you want!
Make sure train.exe is set to "Run as administrator" - if you're not sure how, right-click train.exe, left-click "Properties", left-click the "Compatibility" tab; if there's no tick in the "Run as administrator" box, left-click the box. Left-click the "Apply" button, then "OK".
Now, double left-click on train.exe, let the first screen appear, then close it.
Go back to the Registry and you should see additional entries similar to those shown below :
MSTS_Reg.jpg (146.96K)
Number of downloads: 1
Cheers,
Ged

This worked for me. There is a readme.txt inside the TSUTILS folder: see addition of a CLASSPATH environment variable.

Okay, I made everything run as admin; I then immediately ran a registry search. Here's the result:
registry editor entry2.jpg (170.36K)

Everything that's in the folder (excepting the "HW" subfolder, which I was instructed to not click on) are visible in the right-hand portion of my screenshot. All the stuff from (Default) to VersionType.

Hi Bernie,
Are you running a 32-bit or 64-bit Operating System?
If it's the latter, then you're looking at the wrong part of the Registry (but in that case, I don't know why the MSTS entry would be there!). For a 64-bit OS, the Registry key to look at is :
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Wow6432Node\Microsoft\Microsoft Games\Train Simulator
Whether you're running 32- or 64-bit, make sure you follow the instructions in my post of 3 December.
Cheers,
Ged

Please be aware that if you ever create a custom nVidia profile for MSTS the registry for MSTS will be copied to the nVidia hive and that copy will be the active version for MSTS. The original registry data is left in place but is inactive. You can waste a whole lot of time trying to make that inactive version work... but it won't. :wallbash:

Hi Dave,
That's an interesting point!
Does that occur when using the NVIDIA Control Panel, NV Inspector or both? I'd like some more information, because when using the NVIDIA Control Panel, I can find no evidence of it. If it did happen, wouldn't programs like Route-Riter and Train Store have trouble finding the MSTS settings?
Cheers,
Ged
