Here's what my file location for Java looks like:
1.jpg (191.22K)
Number of downloads: 2
Inside are the 100+ files from TSUtils:
2.jpg (309.15K)
Number of downloads: 1
I tried running the verify TSUtils version thing in RR, but I got this message:
3.jpg (39.84K)
Number of downloads: 0
Figures... I finally get the registry cleared up and something else goes wrong! I'm starting to think my laptop has it out for me... <_<

Hi Bernie,
The Java folders look OK now.:)
I can't offer any explanation as to why the TSUtils version check doesn't work, but if you've got Route_Riter installed in C:\Program Files (x86), it might be the answer.
Cheers,
Ged

Nope, it's outside the (x86) folder, directly on my C: drive.

Hi Bernie,
You've probably already done this, if so, I apologise! Have you tried setting Route_Riter to "Run as Administrator"? If you're not sure how to do it, right-click the Route_Riter Desktop icon and select Properties; left-click the Compatibility tab, then, if the Privilege Level doesn't have a tick against "Run this program as an administrator", left-click the box (to produce a tick), then click the Apply button followed by OK.
Cheers,
Ged

I don't know if this helps, but I just noticed that I ca change the file folder name (classes) without any problems for the most recent version of Java, but I need admin permission to change the Java 7 folder. I was trying to see if there was an issue with file name capitalization (there wasn't). Further, both Java folders are set to "Read Only", but I can't change them because I need Admin permission. HOWEVER, I AM the admin, and when I try to change the security permissions for either Java folder it won't let me save the changes. <_<
Could this be part of the problem?

Hi Bernie,
I think you'll find most folders have the Read Only tick present! It doesn't seem to be a problem and if you did manage to change it, the next time you looked, the tick would be back!!.
Only one version of Java can be "live"; when installing Java, it usually offers to uninstall any older versions it finds. Unless you've got a particular reason for keeping Java 7, I suggest you uninstall it.
When you get the message that Administrator permission is required, isn't there a button to click?
Cheers,
Ged

When it prompts that admin permission is required, it has a "continue" button, but it doesn't actually do anything! I think it's just kicking me out.
I had Java 7 installed because that was a suggested fix waaaay back somewhere in this thread; I actually went through some trouble to install it. However, I kept the installer, so it's not as big a deal to uninstall the old version now. I may just wipe Java off completely and do a full re-install, adding the classes folder afterwards, to see if that does the trick.

GOT IT!!! :yahoo:
After FIVE MONTHS(!) of picking away at what now seem to be at least three separate issues with RouteRiter, my MSTS install, and Java, I finally got RR working! :dance3: The final wipe and re-install of Java did the trick! The "Quit" button is still offset strangely, but everythig works, the TSUtils verification worked, and RR can access MSTS!
I just want to sincerely thank everyone who has helped me with this genuinely frustrating issue; I am certain that I never would have solved it without you folks! :clapping: :cheers3: This is exactly the sort of thing that demonstrates the importance of a forum like ET, and I'm thrilled to be back up and able to sim again!

Hi Bernie,
Well done, mate :) I'm pleased you got there in the end!
Regarding the offset "Quit" button. I assume you're talking about Route_Riter - if so, it is offset (ie not in-line with the other buttons) in the bottom right corner of the RR display.
Cheers,
Ged
