Mainly by comparing the behavior to MSTS. Experience and fundamental understanding are also pretty essential, and that means that not everyone will be capable of doing it.
I have programmed many signal systems, for example, and I know exactly how they are supposed to work. That makes it easy for me to notice when they do not work correctly, and also to notice differences between MSTS and OR.

Well, I agree. If it were up to me OR would mimic MSTS as closely as possible by default. But nobody asked me.

I`m thinking that if a new user is confronted with a sigcfg error he will be totally stuck.
(Just click "new" on the TSRE5 loading screen and you will get a new route with sigcfg.)
Goku thanks for the FixJnNodeposn feature, and for making it repair existing track I have 96 switches updated ok! Can I suggest calling it "animate switches" so that people will know what it is for?
thanks, Rick
