Hi,

I went to Goku's website to search for a downloadable version of soft_oal.dll. When I go http://koniec.org/ts...64/soft_oal.dll, I get an "object not found" message.

You can find it here: http://koniec.org/tsre5/data/openal/

Is the route editor an appropriate tool to identify missing elements on a route created for MSTS if I only have OR?

If yes, I see at the very start of this thread that I'm supposed to download a ZIP file first, THEN get the latest EXE. But every ZIP file link I find (in this thread) leads to a 404 Not Found error. So, if that first answer is a yes, can someone point me to the correct file to download? 64-bit Windows 7.

Also, does anyone know if Jim Ward is available to communicate with regarding PO&N routes? My goal is to get PON11 to run in OR with no MSTS files.

Thanks!

Rigo

I would say No. Running a route in OR (with all the options, like "Show shape file errors" etc. turned ON can show a bunch of flaws, though. There are tools like Route Riter to help diagnose routes, but the older versions that are best to use are not tailored to OR at all.

Jovet, the latest downloads are all EXE files. I have to go back to June 2016 to find a ZIP file in the 'old' folder. Is that the 'zip' file I need to start with?

- EDIT -

Thank you, Jovet - I did find the ZIP file, and have gotten the latest EXE in place. All is well.

It is my understanding that all of the later .exe files will automatically download the rest of the required files. So, one can just download the latest executable, stick it into its own folder somewhere, and run it (as Administrator if necessary).

When this process fails to work, then you would need to dig up the most-recent .zip file. The answer to your question was Yes, and you got it figured out.... glad to hear.

You can keep dropping newer .exe files into that folder as they come out. Be sure to put the latest one in there after extracting the .zip files.

Hey all,

Has anyone experienced TSRE not finding a route, even though it is in the appropriate directory and you can run it in the game?

There are a number of routes that I have installed, but don't show up in TSRE, yet show up in the OR route menu and run fine.

Thanks in advance!

I wonder if the route is showing up but is under a different name.
For example the MSTS default routes appear in TSRE as Japan1 & 2, USA1 & 2, but in MSTS RE they appear as Tokyo ... and Marias Pass.
I don't know why this happens.

In every Routefolder you can find a file *.trk
this file show at the begin the following lines:
Tr_RouteFile (
	RouteID ( JAPAN1 )
	Name ( "Tokio-Hakone" )

MSTS RE is showing the Name. TSER5 is showing the RouteID
