No any compensating brake is implemented. What is implemented is the same as was in MSTS, with few extras.

In MSTS, i did get this to work correctly. The dynamic brake cut out at around 12 mph and then the airbrake kicked in to the pressure required via the brake handle.

The 'DynamicBrakesMaxAirBrakePressure' was set at 3.131PSI This was the pressure shown on the brake cylinders while the dynamic brake achieve the the braking curve until 12 mph.

If the air pressure went above 3.131PSI, the dynamic brake would 'cut out' and the air brake would take over. This would only happen in MSTS when applying the emergency brake.

In OR it might also be possible to cut off the dynamic brake when wheelside is detected, as in the real world.

This was my understanding of 'blending' brakes in MSTS without a dynamic brake handle.

This would only work correctly on EMUs in MSTS. On an electric engine, i seem to remember this would not correctly.

Thanks

Will the manual be updated including these new features?

Question.
When at a stand, If the train brake handle is in a brake application position, the power controller cannot be moved. Is this correct ?

Thanks

Yes, as the dynamic brake is enabled.

I see. So even if there is no dynamic brake force on the train, the dynamic brake is still on because the train brake handle is not in 'release'? I ask this because i have set the blended dynamic brake to zero force at 15 mph but did not expect the throttle to be locked below this speed.

Thanks

I shortly tested how blended braking works with an electric HST, and I appreciate the work done. However I noticed that after braking and resetting the brake controller to 0% position, it lasts a good amount of seconds until the dynamic brake returns to 0% (the air brake even discharges the brake cylinder faster). I wonder if this is prototypical. I would guess not.

Blending follows the brake pipe pressure (with the same release and application rate as the cylinder have), or the virtual brakeline of the EP brake, and not the cylinder, as the cylinder can be empty (bailoff). However with EP brakes i couldn't test, as i have no rolling stock that have dynamic brake and EP brake.

Does anybody know if Siemens Eurorunner ER20 diesel locomotives have blended braking in real life?
