As a user of ORTS with NumPad, yes and no Peter: ORTS CAN use the NumPad keys, without replicating the main keyboard, but you have to turn the NumPad functionality off for ORTS to recognize the NumPad keys at all.
Don´t ask me, how this works together, but from my experience, it does.
BTWm just because I said it´s not practical to use the NumPad in the default assignments due to laptops, that was me theoretically thinking. My personal Laptop does have a NumPad.
Cheers, Markus

How about have an Automated Engine Startup and Shutdown feature for current generation diesel locomotives? Since engine coolant temperature is now modeled in OR, the only parameter that would have to be modeled would be outside ambient temperature. Here is a link to a Norfolk Southern information sheet on how various AESS systems are set up.

Let me try the link again. For some reason, it won't embed "hot". Here is the URL: www.blet375.com/NS_Smart_Start.pdf

Just want to express my sincere appreciation of the implementation of the working resettable odometer or what railroaders call "counter". Just gave it a shot in what I would consider a real life scenario making sure my tailend is clear of a rail crossing on the eastend of a railyard when I simulated stopping for a crew change with a rather long CP Intermodal train outgoing crew would meet the headend via crew cab. Worked wonders and adds to the realism of the simulator. :) :D

Amazing an fast timing this counter feature made my day :D
Thank you indeed. One thing... is it also a cab parameter?

Just wondering in the future if it would be possible to allow the camera free #8 view move forward and reverse in the direction you are looking towards rather than having to side step to maneuver around the world? right now when you hit the up key it elevates the camera or down key drops the camera few down. Even if ctrl up or down for moving the camera fore or aft or up and down similar to maneuvering around in the Route editor for MSTS. Would give the feel of walking your train when doing switching tasks or virtual rail fanning.
Just an idea to run by the programmers if it makes sense and doesn't conflict with other key commands. I feel quite spoiled with all the latest updates and don't want to push my luck as there are many other more important things on the drawing board.
