I can make the digits glow with no trouble. My question is this: will digital displays always be bright at night? Do we want to give the user a control over it (i.e. some may be dark at night)?

In our country, namely Russia, the numbers are always lit at night. You can display an individual parameter, so the numbers would glow in the night or could be a little darker at night. Before I forget JTang, please correct that the numbers displayed on the two cockpit when single-section locomotive. In the present embodiment, it is possible to register the numbers only once, if you write two times, the cabin disappears.

Can you send me an example?

BTW, I have committed a fix to make the digits glow at night.

Thank you. Here is the link to the cab CHS4t, when spelled out numbers on the cab 1 and 2 (one section) Cab_chs4t

Also wanted to add. JTang now the set of numbers goes in that order. It's not right.

It must be so, at least in Russia we have such a sequence report. By the way, the speed limit is also supposed to work.

You can try to bind the orientation to the function of the cvf file.
Digital (
Type ( SPEEDOMETER DIGITAL )
Position ( 186 329 25 10 )
ScaleRange ( 0 200 )
Accuracy ( 0 )
AccuracySwitch ( 0 )
LeadingZeros ( 0 )
Justification ( 3 )
PositiveColour ( 0
ControlColour ( 60 241 251 )
)
NegativeColour ( 0 )
DecreaseColour ( 0 )
Units ( KM_PER_HOUR )
)
And even better if the numbers can be in the middle of updated.

Still wanted to say. The cabin disappears even when the second write clock and the speed limit.

Please create a issue report and link to that when committing bug fixes in the future, so that we can correctly track what bugs have been fixed.

The digital clock only appears gray on the display to the right.
What am I doing wrong?

I have another question. If I want a black digits instead of white on the 3D clock, how can I achieve this? I've tried changing alpha textures and re-colouring the texture itself.

You should just update the texture in the global\textures directory.

I am in the finishing stages of my first new 3D Cabs. One being with just dial gauges an the other with modern digital displays of the same model.

Since not all cvf parameters are needed to run/animate in 3D cabs, how hard would it be to allow 3D Cabs to have newly implemented cab part features since regular MSTS does not use 3Dcabs or even tweaked ORTS subfolder cvf's? I am looking for mainly 2 top needed features for my realistic NA 3D Cab's to be finished an released in locomotive sets:

1. Rear End Of Train Brake Pipe Pressure as it is in the Basic F5 HUD but when enabled with a click on a car number with F9 selection to arm toggle it in cab to read that cars BP reading.

2. Train length counter as it is in the ORTS train Odometer reading. For the cab display to not overlap an go over length in cabs, it should only max to the max length from headend to rear car set with rear BP pressure reader whether the user wants to reset it to start from 0 an stop increase counting when max length is achieved or reset from max length to decrease down to 0 an Stop counting. Current ODO can stay as is with no max limits or changes as one may want to continue to measure route even if train has cleared.

3. Cab Lighting On/Off animation triggers like current 2D cab option pressing L when dark or in tunnels.

4. Animated On/Off switches for Power, MU, Dynamic Brakes.

Just like I did in one of my other regular 2D Cab test units which I set a un implemented cvf digital ODO display where MSTS did not complain but just showed 0 in game with no issues..... I can animate an set my wants but with special part names till later features implemented where animated parts will then function where no tweaks in future won't really be needed especially for On/Off animations. So before implementing there needs to be a list of new 3D Cab Part Name plans made for future animations/displays to function in future if one like my self now builds displays or animations in cab.

Likewise working on 3D cab -- I've requested in the Trello road map the functionality for developer-defined controls and gauges -- it's on the 'Future' list:

JTang, how's progress on the multifunction screen displays?
