Yes, JTang, but a little bit later. I do need to rework some of the controls in the cockpit. I have a number of suggestions on the 3d cockpit in Open Rails.
1. I would like to see the inclusion of light in the cockpit. For a private key L
2. Lighting devices on a separate key.
3. Electronic numbers would be bigger and letters (the number refers to). For example, the name of the stations, kilometer rally. The brake pressure in the brake cylinders to the surge tank and into the main thoroughfare.

Okay, two questions that I haven't seen answered yet:

1. Even though we now have the ability to have animated windshield wipers in the 3D cabviews, so far the only YouTube videos I have seen demonstrating this are wipers whose arms of are the fixed-arc type, and not the pantograph type more common on modern locomotives (not to be confused with the pantographs used by electric locomotives to pick up power from overhead):

What would need to be done to simulate pantograph wiper arms?

2. In regards to steam locos, how would the water in a boiler sight glass be simulated?

Use:

EXTERNALWIPERS:0:0
EXTERNALWIPERS:0:1
EXTERNALWIPERS:0:2.....

And animate as many parts as you wont.

Regards.

Is there a guide to the naming conventions and animation requirements for the controls? I'd love to do a standard EMD type cab...

Robert

It's funny you should mention that. I am kind of working on making en EMC SW-1 in the background when I'm not working on my steam engines, and I have contemplated, not only having working shutters on the front radiator and/or working cab doors, but also the possibility for a 3D cab. My problem though is that I'm using TSM, and TSM is a little...Mmm, limited.

I am also a TSM user.
Is limited in the texturing area.
But can animate anything without problem.

Regards.
