Undocumented but use the Shift key as well to change styles, works with the F7 key as well.

I am still hoping that the F6 key information can be made to display dim initially and brighter as that location is reached, as is done in MSTS.

Yeah, that's always handy for making water stops and platform arrivals. :unknw:

over a year ago there was a request to have the MILEPOST shown in the route monitor display. Although MSTS shows the milepost with about 200 meter error in the position, it was usefull. Also the milepost is used in MSTS to indicate the platform location in the detailed report of an activity. The "mile"post acts as an "KM" pole when the game is set for KM instead of MILES

regards, and best wishes for the OpenRails team for the New Year

Would it be possible to have a foot counter simular to the one used in MSTS when connecting to a car? or maybe a foot counter in the engine itself? Benny

Benny, you'll find that counter - meter counter actually IIRC - in the F4 display. Shows distance to connections, each 10m is about 30 feet. Working with narrow gauge that means each multiple of 10 is about a car length. :p :sign_thanks:

Actually, I was wrong on that one, it is in yards! You'll find it here in the yellow circle on the F4 popup:

Hi Folks,

RE: Steam Locomotives HUD

Noted the fuel/water added to the steam locomotives HUD...

Thanks so much - a big help...

Just one bit of feedback - is that the steam generation/consumption line was changed as well - as now it only offers a single value - I would suggest one of two courses of action - actually remove the steam generation/consumption completely - as that information wasn't available to the engineer - - - or - - - add the second value back to the steam generation/consumption line as the single value offers no meaning without the other for reference...

Regards,
Scott

Hi Folks,

RE: Track Grades

One more suggestion on the driver aids...

I don't know if anyone else has this issue - but - many times I find it really hard to tell visually whether the train is going up or down hill... In addition - most times we are not truly qualified on a route so we are not as familiar with every up and down as a real engineer would be...

Would it be possible to add "Track Grade" to the track monitor - so we have some indication of what's coming ??? This would be especially helpful for steam locomotives where you have to plan for steam consumption and set hand brakes...

Regards,
Scott
