Hello.

Yes, they got worse. View pictures. The last image shows the set color in the Color setting window and next to it in the game. Above it is the current color.
Sometime in the spring, the change happened, I don’t remember the thread where it came up anymore.

I added a new fix for the release candidate: https://github.com/o...nrails/pull/498

Since power supply package was introduced, some cabview controls related to power supply do not match with the states of power supply objects.
This is due to the new "Unavailable" values that were created in the Enums. They increased the identification number of other values by 1.

What is the impact here? E.g. what proportion of cab views will be affected, how broken/wrong will they be?

Okay, I don't think we can do anything about this for 1.4, unless someone can find the change or at least a much smaller time window.

That is because there have been no changes to the particle emitter code since Nov 2020 apart from one update for the XNA -> Monogame migration, which did not touch anything to do with colour AFAICS.

This is something I don't understand...in all branches I've used ( stable, testing, unstable, monogame, ultimate ) my diesel engine exhaust colors have remained constant. No change has been observed.

I can say that at least one published cab where I contributed is affected, and works now well again with Serana's patch.
As it is a very small patch, I propose to insert it in 1.4, as well as latest steamer_ctn's patch about mechanical compressors, that now should take into account remarks by Northamerican rail guys and therefore play compressor sounds as it has always been.
