The route does not include freight rolling stock. The included scenarios depend on the RWA route for that. But you should be able to create a new simple free roam scenario to run whatever rolling stock you do have.

I see I should have provided an empty free roam scenario for those without the RWA route.

I couldn't figure out how to make my own - so I bought the RWA pack...

Strange - the RS1 seems to only have sounds when changing throttle - perhaps I need the other Payware packs you listed ?

While it's been while since I've been to the Pacific Northwest - you certainly seem to have captured the essence of it well - I can almost smell the conifers and sea breeze...

I haven't explored it all yet - just got it working - looking forward to seeing the rest...

I'm probably going to pick up a steam locomotive so I can be back in my element - although I am a fan of early Alco's...

LOL - and it is us - who should be thanking you - once again...

Thanks Scott. I am glad you liked the route.

Sorry about the payware dependencies. Don't purchase the US and Euro asset packs just for the CVP. Watch the sales. Those packs are often included free with other routes, such as the Fort Kent, Rascal & Cottonwood, B&O Kingwood Branch etc which come on sale for $10 or $20 a few times a year.

FYI, here is a list of routes ( some discontinued ) that include the US and Euro asset packs.

Wait for the next sale and find something that interests you that includes both asset packs :-)

As for steam, explore the RailworksAmerica library - I think there are some by Rick Grout that are free and without dependencies on payware.

I'm sorry to tear up this old one, and be so off-topic as well, but I just cannot keep this to myself.

I was just reading up on this thread, mostly for the real awesome screenshots (kudos, Wayne!), when I stumbled upon this post...

Yes, we did have those monsters, called class 297. They were used just about 10 miles from where I live and could operate on two independent modes of operation, either on adhesion (they had six driven axles, IE a 2-12-2 layout) or using two cog wheels. Only two were ever built, but one is preserved (unfortunately not in operating condition) at the station in Vordernberg, which now is the Eastern terminus for the Erzbergbahn historical / tourist railway. If you wish, I can get my bike (or car :D ) sometime these days and head out there to get some photos of it.

i am still amazed at that beautiufl route..Wayne.. one of the best yet made for any sim. I still have to explore many parts of it..and look forward to having the time to do just that

Wayne you are truly one of the great masters of this sim and any rail sim, wonderful work on this and the route itself which is one of your best yet and a great part of the literature for our tim. thanks for sharing this ...really really nice.
