Please don't discuss about long term sim development. This topic is about current TSRE development.

Which is why I left it as an open-ended question. I feel it's important to get the conversation started early, so that later on down the road the kinks can be worked out. I understand what you're talking about, and in hindsight realize that maybe that conversation can be placed in a different thread if you wish.

I'll repeat my question from about a month ago: Since Open Rails prides itself on realism, what is the prototype use (world-wide) for splines. U.S. routes use spiral easements. I've already shared a report on spiral math.

"Spline" refers to procedurally-generated track, similar to Dynamic Track, versus the precomposed and static track shapes (.s files) typically used now. It does not make any specific reference to how the track is laid or how curves are engineered, as procedurally-generated track can be programmed to transition with spirals, or to not do so. This would actually be an advantage over our current static track shapes, not a disadvantage.

So as not to hijack this thread, I will open a new thread to reply to this.

Hi Goku,
If I try to place a Levelcrossing I can place it, but I get the Message at the left on the top:
unsupported LevelCr
I use the MSTS Standard Levelcrossing JP1Carcrossing.s
So I can't place the crossing at the correct place.
What I am doing wrong?
I use release v0.662.
Can You help please?

When I move slowly forward and down in TSRE5 the view is going thru the floor (ground) in the underground.
In MSTS-RE I can prevent this with toggle the "-" key (hyphen, not minus). Can this also be prevent in TSRE5

Hi Goku,
Thank You for the new Setting in v0.667: "Stick Camera to Terrain"
Now is very easy to fly over the Terrain!

I am trying to use OR Editor on my new route, so far I have about 2400 objects placed in the single tile on view below. The ease and precision of moving and rotating objects is brilliant, such an improvement over the hit and miss of MSTSREditor.
Having said that I find the way track is handled to be a problem. How many time have I selected a trackpiece and moved it by mistake, leaving the track database behind.

I have some thoughts on how the object interface could be improved, I hope that Goku will look on this as a constructive comment, hoping to improve his Editor for ease of use.

1. Which if any of the buttons "Select/Place New" is selected. Can we have a more prominent indication of the active button.
2. Which track piece will be placed, is it A2t10mstrt or A2t100mstrt?
3.Can the list of recent items be sorted alphabetically?
4. If I select another piece in the Recent items list eg a1t28_7mstrt, is it possible that the first few characters are put into the search box? I might want another piece such as a1t28_3mstrt, this would be easily found by one click in Recent items, "a1t28" shows up in search, and the required track piece appears below it. Even looking for a 25m straight would be quite easy.

I have posted this on uktrainsim as well.

Hi there

Don't know if anyone can help but downloaded latest TSRE5 v0.667.exe and replaced previous .exe with this one as instructed. When it loads all I get is a white screen with no route showing.
The navi screen shows position etc and if I move the mouse coordinates move, lat and long move, camera position moves but no route is visible.
If I run my previous version, TSRE5 v0.607.exe, then it displays the route.

I am probably doing something wrong somewhere or missed some simple instruction.

Any help appreciated.

Regards
Peter

You need to download new ZIP. New versions are not compatibile with old data.
