Leaving Kuznechnoe with train 250 Kostomuksha-Leningrad
4000hp AC/DC ТЭП70 was supposed as the best passenger diesel ocomotive of USSR.
It was built at Kolomna locomotive plant during about 25 years, as a successor of ТЭП60.
Almost 600 units were built. As we can see, it was MU-ready.

DC3kV two-cased 8-axle freight locomotive VL10 of early batches (see old-fashioned buffer-lights)
And this one is ballasted modification VL10у, built at Tbilisi Eectric locomotive plant later.
See modern combined clear/red buffer lights and roof air intakes. It's nickname was "Georgian"

DC3kV 6-axle electric locomotive VL23 (23 means 23t per wheel adhesion weight)
Those machines were built by Novocherkassk Electric locomotive plant at 1960-th.
As we can see, they had power bogies, i.e. their case didnt transmit tractive force.
