Good things come to those who wait, the author once said and this is certainly true of the latest iteration of the Baldwin C-16-60 class narrow gauge consolidations from Barry Munro (Captain Bazza). I have been running his outside-frame versions since they hit the download area but now I have converted all my existing D&RGW and RGS C-16's and C-19's to the new inside-frame .s files.

Here are my beauties strutting their stuff!

First the reason d'entant of the collection, the 268. Here we see the 268 in green boiler livery heading up the Silverton Train between Tacoma and Tefft.

Skip forward a few years and we find the venerable old 268 has become "Cinder Ella," resplendent in gold and silver paint for movie work. Here we find her between scenes, first sitting on the Durango turntable and then posed in front of the Durango Depot.

Here are all of my D&RGW C-16's and C-19 posed in front of the Durango Depot. Lots of power for the little caboose 0524!

The cast of characters are Grant C-16's 220 and 223, Baldwin 268 in "Cinder Ella" paint and again in, as the Cap'n says, Grasshopper paint, then C-19 340 bringing up the rear. 340 is actually a C-16 in appearance but is buffed up in the .eng file to C-19 physics and pulling power. Unless you know your C's very well it is hard to tell the difference unless you get up real close.

Now for my favorites, the RGS 2-8-0's! For this exhibition the hostlers at Durango have hooked up every single C-16 from the RGS that made it into the '20s and added on C-19 41 for good measure and moved 'em all out to Bridge 160A in the afternoon sun.

Here we have RGS C-16s 3, 6, 10, 12, 15, 16 and 17 and C-19 No. 41. Like the 340, the 41 is a C-16 in dimensions but a C-19 under the hood.

First we see them all together, then individually, then a look at what this gaggle of power looks like from the front platform of Caboose 0402.

Finally, a run on RGS Train No. 9, the North end scheduled freight from Ridgway to Rico, featuring the newest of my RGS C-16's, No. 12. 12 never saw the light of day as an outside frame engine since I never got around to finishing her. Although the last to be built she is truly the first to be in the correct configuration.

Here we find her leaving Vance Jct. an hour late and heading up hill towards Lizard Head. We'll follow along as she passes above Anderson loop on the Telluride Branch then makes her way to Ames where she stops for water.

Hel.....heck, even I'm impressed, Herb. Amazing how they breed. :blink: I'll get back to the project sometime, and do the 'little changes' so dear to your heart. :rolleyes:

The grasshopper green turned out well. The BB shots remind me of the film clips, which in turn influenced the model.

I guess I will now have to put some more chips on the table. I don't have any of Herb's Real C-16's. Herb doesn't have V2.0 of the Silverton Branch (he doesn't even know it exists). :)
