Hey Jim, what the Capn says, and more! Narrow gauge Colorado railroading latched onto me in '69 and hasen't let go since. I'm sort of like you, a steam freak, but only a D&RGW steam freak in narrow gauge of course. I run Std gauge K36's on RGS and Silverton Branch and the Cumbres & Toltec. The cool smaller steamers were around before the era before I choose to run in. Although 268 in golden 2 stripe has always been a favorite. And speaking of two stripe Pass. cars in D&RGW yellow, there is only one available in the T-S library. Only it's weight is way over maximum. Did you lower the weight to get 268 to pull them over the C&S?

Thanks for the tip George, I'll have to look into the weight. That little engine has a hard time pulling them. What should the weight be?

Hi Jim, we tuned the C16/60 to reflect prototypical performance....some sections of the real routes were very steep grades and trains were sometimes quite short...and consists were of restricted tonnage. The C16, as an example, is quite a small locomotive, I forget offhand the TE, but the C"16" gives a clue,,,,it's around 16,000 ft/lbs TE.

The "Grande Gold" "Narrow Gauge" coaches on Train Sim are twice what they should weigh as they are actually shrunken standard gauge cars. The .wag files weren't modified to reflect the reduction in size. They should be 16 ton cars, not 32 ton cars.

A firm set of standards for ENG and WAG for NG would have been useful as a guide. If US NG takes off for RS, as it may well one day, a set of standards is a must.
