Freeman Frolics :D
Finally reached Freeman - it was a long, long haul down the valley from Kings River, and I was intending going straight to Urbanette See pic below), but I got "seedooced" by the potential wide open spaces heading South to Berryville - so that is where I am going for now...Nice to be up on the "tops" again, like at Grandview.
First shot shows, in red, the route towards Berryville, and in blue, towards Urbanette.
Shot looking North from Freeman, up the valley towards Kings River (and some broiler houses :o )
Reversing that, looking due South towards Berryville
To the North of the wye at Freeman
and some general shots taken to the South of Freeman, the last showing a new grade crossing adding in the dirt road running due East to West on the Google Earth shot.

One of my favorite places to take screenshots you've made even better, Rod. :o

Thanks Tom & Tim - I am eagerly looking forwards to the move South. I spent a lot of time in Berryville when I was placing the ROW and I must admit I didn't think I would be revisiting it so soon - but that's cool :o - there is a lot of interest around the 'Ville and it will be a challenge to start to tie in field and semi urban landscape.
Tim, on Freeman, I have made sure that I have clear lines of sight for some of my favourite angles at Freeman - the real advantage of fiddling in the RE :D.

A year gone by, no further updates, I hope all is well?
BTW, the river scenery treatment is the best I've seen in MSTS, so far.
Cheers Bazza

I'm interested in this as well. Kinda been waiting to see if it is going to be released as an update before I pull the trigger on the A&O sub. It looks fantastic.

Thanks guys - there have been further updates over at Trainsim - got down to Berryville and the quarry, and a ways towards Urbanette, but after about 9 months solid on this work I became seriously burned out. Have been back from time to time to do short 1 or 2 mile stretches. What I was becoming mainly concerned about though is that round Berryville, it wasn't possible to follow Google earth as accurately as I had before - started to question what and why I was doing it then - more fantasy than reality - fantasy protolanced route .
However, I haven't lost interest - this route, plus WPFR is about all I still run in MSTS. I dabble every now and then when I have time (which, unfortunately, isn't often just now).

OK, just to prove I haven't totally lost it - some update shots... Some locations seen before, but with a few updates.
First up, one of my favourite locations, the trestle on the way to Berryville from Freeman
and within that area, my favourite woods - just at the back right, where the road does a little kink...
Seen from the other side of that last shot, showing that the scenery goes a scale mile or so back from the track. Detail doesn't have to be as good, but it makes such a huge difference having the scenery there - those woods are again on the middle right, with the trestle in the far distance
Moving back to the track, and looking back towards Freeman and the trestle, and then off to the side of the line
Further off on the same side, about half a mile back, a little combination that I have already used in a couple of other places - the ground textures, matching Google Earth, not far from Kings River, and the buildings at Grandview - again, being in the distance the textures don't need to be absolutely spot on as they are generally not seen so close to
Finally, in this section, once more back from the track near my third shot above, but this time looking toward the grain store at Berryville - again about a mile back, so just enough detail to give that feeling of depth.

and following on from the last, moving into Berryville - as I said, some of these shots seen before, but generally as background to Gaetan's engines
Berryville engine facilities
A distant view of the grain store from just to the North East of Berryville
and on to the quarry
Winding up with a few on the way to Urbanette
A backward glance towards Berryville
and on to the East...ground texture work still to complete
