I have tried installing all unstable versions after 22 November. (All in separate installations.) None of them will run an activity. All crash after start up. The last functional version is U2023.11.22-2037 I have attached log files from the last functional version and the first non-functional version.

Hi Darwin,

The latest unstable runs ok here.

Looking at the crash in the second log, its failing in the hardware detection phase.

Most folk are having no problems. I suspect it is something to do with my system. However something must have changed in that version. Previous versions have no problem detecting my hardware - subsequent versions don't work. Though two of them gave a slightly different on screen error message citing a problem with the activity runner. Logs of those are also attached.

Have been trying to update since yesterday. Have the same problem as darwins. New version always crashes.
Haven't researched what the last working version was on my system, but have tried several times to update to the latest version.

I've had no problems with a couple of versions from 28 Nov.

I've attached the log from U2023.11.28-737 in case one, or more, of his settings is causing Darwin's problem.

Cheers,
Ged

EDIT : U2023.11.29-2022 also loads OK, although the very first time I ran it, there was a quick flash of what looked like an exception screen. There's nothing in the log and it hasn't appeared in subsequent runs.

I have also had issues off and on with unstable versions not working but today's version seems to be working just fine for me! 11/29/2023

I think you are spot on and it's this PR that works on most systems but not all, so many thanks to everyone who tried it out and reported back. We couldn't make reliable software without this feedback.

I've alerted James as this one is his work.
