Consist file is an Unicode text file, which can be opened with any test editor, from notepad to M$Word.
Since You open it, You'll see the "head" part, which shouldn't be modified, then, the "list" of consist units, each item of which refers to concrete rolling stock piece name and folder, containing it.

The structure should be as follows:
"Installation's name" (it's root folder)
\global
\sound
\routes
\trains
\\consists
\\trainset
\\\stock piece1
...
\\\stock piece n

TSRE SHOULD BE OUTSIDE.
