Thank you Paul. One of my personal favorite diesel electrics.

You're welcome Tim,
I needed the grimy black Conrail one for the Amsterdam yard job.

Always a happy find some new switchers...I luv em...I like the dirty workhorses...very nice addition to the library Paul, thanks...much appreciated. One question I have and some examples of work I've done...if anyone is interested in this stuff just PM me.
Okay..for the question ( see attached pics from the NYC dimensions and classification book )...I've got #575 weighing in at 206500lbs...did they add more ballast later in it's career? Mass of 237900lbs for the models seems high.
The highest mass I can find for NYC's SW1 is 224700lbs for some locomotives in the des-6f class. The amount of modifications different roads did on the equipment, it's hard to keep track of...or find good documentation.
I have ORTS body dimensions organized for different locomotives into include files...here's the EMD SW1 example...following is the most recent version of the SW1 ORTS diesel engine definition with MaxTractive curves.

Hi Gerry,
I couldn't find any decent information when I was looking for drawings or data on the SW-1s, so I ended up just using an engine file I had. The original was most likely from Dick Cowan's SW-1200 years ago with lots of modifications over the years. My main concern was being able to get 8 cars up a 3.45% grade, the prototype could do it so I wanted to be able to do it in the sim. I did find a set of drawings from a Google search I used, pretty basic measurements though.
NYC 603 became NYC 8429 and the only modifications I can see that went right into Conrail was the addition of the antenna, NYC whip that was replaced by PC with a Sinclair antenna, NYC added a small beacon on the cab roof, and for some reason CR rotated the bell 90 degrees. NYC at a late date replaced the two center windows at the front of the cab with steel plate, but none of this should have changed the weight.
Paul :-)

I have ORTS body dimensions organized for different locomotives into include files....
I'm still experimenting (not very actively) but my latest is to have almost everything in Include files leaving only those few things that might vary from one locomotive to another, such as exhaust. That makes all of the Include files completely standardized for use in other .eng files for the same model & road name, a number of which of which are going to be applicable to other road names as well.
I see 6 lines below that can be moved to one of the Include files, leaving only 42 behind. Concise and most of the .incs are essentially handling a specific type of equipment so you know exactly where to go to review and/or correct something.

I've fallen behind WRT the latest parameter additions so when I catch up the above file may be a bit different but the approach to organizing these files will continue.
