Yes, I've heard Windows 10 and 11 are pretty toucher where you put things. I have an older version of OR on this Windows 11 laptop but only put it here to see if I could cast it to my TV. My Windows 7 machine has a bigger monitor so I use it for most everything.
I'm a little disappointed with the results. I opened the activity, sped the clock up and it was looking batter, but by 2020 the sun was just at the horizon but there was no ambient light on the train or ground, just an almost a black silhouette. Nothing like the photos I posted this morning. It appeared to have the sun start setting around 1945 instead of 1915 but still a half hour too early.

Carl lives in more southern state (Maryland, or so), so the Sun's trajectory is steeper there: dusk is shorter.

We had calendars, where Sun&Moon rise&fall times are specified for every day of the year.
GPS navigators may have this function for every day in every location (e.g. In fishing/hunting assist utility)
Computer most likely has similar utilities, I guess.

Perhaps, that's not precise.
Eh, Paul: winter and summer are quite long: what if they made just "medium" appearance for them?

I was thinking that maybe both are using a late spring/early autumn setting for the summer sunset. I took shots to compare both OR v1.4 and ORNYMG127 but neither is remotely close to the actual photos I posted this morning.

In both shots the sun is setting behind me. OR has the sun below the horizon but the train has better lighting, ORNYMG has about half the sun still showing but not much light on the train at all.

I personally prefer the bottom picture. For sky,

But the upper one - for objects.
You know: I guess, only sky lits in ORTS, while in real life, Earth reflects some portion of sky's light back, so objects are lighted better.
