Morning all,

I've been testing a new route for where I live. The way freight runs in the evening and the sunset in summer time in Open Rails is starting around 1930 and is dark by 2000. In real life, there is still enough daylight here that the streetlight don't come on until 2100 and there is a bit of daylight until 2200 at the latest in the summer.

In OR, where can I correct this?

Paul

Little demonstration in hopes that someone from Open Rails will now see what people have been asking about for years.

From Rail Canada Volume 4. A couple of photos of one of the first LRCs VIA put in service. Arrived Brockville at 2020 and departs at 2022. The sky is blue but yes, the sun has started to set. You can easily see the train and the houses in the background... and the ground.

... and now Open Rails, taken at 2022 from the same spot as the photo above during an Open Rails Summer.

Can you see the difference between reality and Open Rails?

Paul

Hi, Paul.
Did You try NYMG version?
Carl did correct something there, so does it look better?

Now that looks better. This is Monogames? Is this more hard code or can it be adjusted by the end user?

Paul :-)

It's implemented only in Carlo's build now. Hard-coded, AFAIK.

OK, I've downloaded and unzipped the latest un-official version of ORNYMG. I looked at the Readme and the Readme_ORNewYear_MG files and neither says where this goes. Does it just go in the Program Files (x86) folder, or does it go into the Open Rails folder?

Paul :-)

Never x86! :)
As simply as possible:
e.g. C:\OR\NYMG\Program_v127 or so...
Just separate folder from official ORTS Program That's it.

Paul you can have multiple installations of OR. All my testing, unstable, and monogame versions are in separate folders in a parent folder named "OR_Programs".You could just create a folder named "OR_Monogame" and put the different versions that Carlo releases in that parent folder....each version in it's own folder of course.

"Never in (x86)"... sorry but that's where my first installation of MSTS went by itself, and that's where it's been for over 20 years and I've never had a problem. That's where Open Rails is and I've never had a problem. Maybe it's a problem in later versions of Windows but everything is on my offline computer, a Windows 7 machine.

Thanks Gerry, I'll create a new folder for all my Monogame versions... OK, version, you have to start somewhere!

Paul :-)

That's great, if there's no access rights problem.
win, older, than 7 behave themselves quite odd often with user's programs.
